I enjoy the character's gameplay. The character is adorable. That's where it stops for me.
I've accepted a while ago that some of the franchises I enjoy trooned out, either because the developer feels it's the right thing to do, it's the power play to make, or because they get co-opted by troon actors they hired.
I don't follow Twitter discourse much. I feel it was especially obnoxious for this. The entire train of people boldly shouting "Trans Rights!" with Bridget pictures. Rights for what? It is almost like a mantra without purpose. Do troons have rights now because Bridget is a trans character in Guilty Gear?
A lot of the people either shouting about it or seething about it just don't seem to play Strive at all. It's also just become a taboo touchy subject in local communities where a bunch of guys clearly don't like Bridget being trans if you poke them a bit about it. You got a bunch of these awkward autistic nerds, and outsiders are coming in to co-opt their hobby. They'll pretend they support until you push them a little bit.
There's the matter of discord and community jannies as well, they really want to show to everyone that they fucking love troons. Really looks good for them, and they get a power trip out of getting rid of people getting a bit too uppity. I think the move at this point is to just not interact with people in these places, it's all starting to become a bit reset-era-ish.
