Yes, its due to melanin production changing as some children age due to gene expressions shifting.

In true Amerimutt fashion, not knowing what ethnicities I cycled through, I was born strawberry blonde with curls, which went to reddish and curly, then jet black and straight, hit brunette and wavy, up until a few years ago when I magically became old as fuck and now I have silver hair that does whatever it wants. It's not uncommon for kids of especially German or Slav heritage to be born blonde, so maybe it's Nick's Polish genes kicking in.

Hair babble aside, Nick has adorable kiddos, and I can tell he and Lady Rackets are truly proud of them. He's talked on more than one occasion how hard it was for them to have children; they have three angel babies, IIRC.
