Congrats on >300 posts, been following closely. I even read some of the previous >1000 post thread. Wtf.
One thing that's been bothering me, for awhile now, is how does Wu get so much press coverage?
Everything she does generates news stories. It's like a mundane superpower. She never capitalizes on it (She's not that bright, I mean who takes a product off the shelf while your still making it's replacement and can't namedrop it?) but she sure can generate it;
BBC, NYTimes, Guardian, Cbsnews, HuffPost, USAToday, theBigBag, complex, jdnews, etc etc. That's just from this last convention stint. It's like journos are falling over themselves to write what is essentially fluff.
Is Online Harassment such a hot-button subject that any story on it will drive clicks? But then surely there's better 'victims' to show off?
Is it because Wu name is now synonymous with GamerGate and the world/Journos can't get enough of that s-s-scary online boogeyman?
Is it just because Wu 'backchannels' (follows on Twitter) freelance writers in the SJW circles whom need to write about something?
Is it because Journo's desperately want to look progressive and on "the right side of history" are are just hedging their bets?
Is it because some publications actually believe the story surrounding Wu, and then other journos latch on to the story, as it's been reported from Source A it has to be true? (I.E everything wrong with Wikipedia)
Small time game developers would kill to get the kind of press coverage Wu generates, such a shame she hasn't got anything to sell.
