Linus is obsessed with pretending to be an actual professional company by using official Pantone products but his business is just a bunch of retarded manchildren riding out a tech bubble that's going to burst in the near future.

And tbh I can believe the zoomer girl's accusations that they're a company full of creepy sex pests and have no divide between management other employees, because again: manchildren.

The Pantone chips and sheets I can understand the investment knowing that merch makes up more than half of his total revenue not to mention they save time and money on prototyping.
The problem is management, because Linus likes to involve himself in the fun stuff of the company and not the boring yet necessary ones.

Logistics and customer service? boring
server management? boring
taking care of your employees and giving proper pay? boring

Look like a good and caring boss with fancy goodies on social media? FUN!
make more LTT goodies to play around? FUN!
invest in a lab n act as if u know the machines and industrial requirements? FUN!
bitching about servers breaking and losing data cuz of neglect? FUN!

Linus has made several videos complaining about YouTube's "broken" HDR processing and no longer uploads HDR videos, so all those Pantone colors are a total waste for his SDR videos.

YouTube implements HDR and SDR downgrading of HDR videos properly, but Linus' staff was too stupid to google how to make a video that's graded for both color spaces and they convinced him that YouTube was broken.
As proof that Linus had no clue what he was talking about, here's a video which is properly graded for both HDR and SDR:

Here's the key thing that Linus is missing that could save him thousands. Nobody fucking gives a shit.
If the LTT water bottle isn't the precise shade of orange then as long as it's in the same Vivid Tangerine family then nobody is going to even notice, let alone care. Building brand recognition is one thing but this is just Linus throwing way too much money around to solve a non-problem.

I deal with color matching in work sometimes and it becomes less what the customer's actual PMS colors are in their guidelines and more what they have on hand now that it's to match. Could be PMS 300C for the guideline, but a previous printer or manufacturer didn't match it, tough shit, you have to match what it is now. Could be 301C now or often a CMYK match, and that's before getting into different materials that color goes on. And no one cares as long as it matches close enough, no one is going to freak out that on a sunset it doesn't look right for 20 minutes.

And this makes his Chinesium grift even more of a joke, because they're the ones who usually screw it up in the first place and you have to work around them because no one ever truly fights back on a color issue unless they drastically changed it.
