Megathread SRS and GRS surgeons and associated horrors - the medical community of experimental surgeons, the secret community of home butchers

I'm torn on whether I think she's truly a psychopath. Lots of surgeons have psychopathic traits, and I wouldn't be surprised if plastic surgeons had even more than the average surgeon. You sort of have to be detached, cold, and egotistical to cut up a person and rearrange bits.

The "blowhole" comment is actually what got me thinking about this. The fact that she said such a thing at all, much less directly to a patient who was scared and in pain, suggests to me that there's more to her than just opportunistic greed. I was absolutely astounded by how callous that comment was. It's something that you'd expect to hear from the most popular girl in junior high, not an adult woman. It was straight "mean girl" and given the context, it really felt like she was delighting in, or at least amused by, the suffering she had inflicted on a fellow human being. I actually find it quite chilling.

I wouldn't put too much into that... with many years in the healthcare field, there's a dark undercurrent of cruel and twisted humor throughout.
It sounds ABSOLUTELY AWFUL to those not initiated, but you see really awful things almost every day. Like, traumatic, horrifying things that someone unfamiliar with wouldn't forget for the rest of their lives after decades of therapy.
So, to deal with it, a lot of us say hideous jokes that for some reason make things a bit easier to deal with.

Couple with what @Die Dunkle Maus said in the comment above mine about gallows humor, you also gotta understand that youre taking the words of a delusional troon at face value.

Theres no way to know if Sidhbh actually said that shit (which, btw, is hilarious) or if ol troony toon is just making shit up for asspats. Or maybe the drug cocktail had her hallucinate.

Or maybe gallagher actually did say it and as a result, made me like her more?

I used to think she was a horrible person, and i still do, but im happy she has made life more interesting. Also, she is doing nothing but making our points for us, wrt gender surgeons being butchers who are money grubbing, so thats a plus.

But yeah, take the words of a troon with a grain of salt.

I've worked in healthcare too, and I understand that some people need gallows humor to cope. I still think it's a shitty thing to say to a patient.

Gallagher probably is an actual psychopath, but the ‘teetus deleetus’ stuff is just canny marketing. Her clients are immature women whose life experience is fanfiction and Harry Potter (before JKR killed literally thousands of troons). It’s in her interests to make it sound like a cutesy tootsy simple procedure, like changing the look of your Sim or animal crossing avatar.
Calling it ‘Serious medical procedure with uncertain cosmetic outcomes’ doesn't rhyme and is not kawai. It’s all just part of the groom.

Tortellini Testicle's UL and fistula fix has not gone well. She now has wound separation and an infection. u/softasnight

She even made a separate post to cope with this.

A week ago I had my stage 3 phalloplasty which was Glansplasty and Urethroplasty. The Urethroplasty was done to fix a small fistula at the base of my phallus.

The surgery itself went really well. The Glansplasty looks great and the Urethroplasty was the best-case scenario and didn’t even need a buccal graft. Now a week later things are not looking good.

A couple of days into my recovery I noticed I was dripping some liquid which from experience is a sign a wound is open. Fast forward to yesterday at my first post-op appointment. My Urethroplasty site is infected and opening up. Right now the hole is small but it’s slowly getting bigger. I just started a stronger antibiotic but I fear it might be too late for the site to close up on its own and not get worse.

I’m obviously very emotionally distraught about this. Before going into surgery I was already having big feelings such as sadness and grief for needing more surgery and having a catheter again. I was only supposed to have a catheter for 2 weeks and now it looks like it’s gonna be longer and maybe even another surgery.

I feel a lot of frustration and sadness seeing that this has been my third surgery and things are just so difficult. I feel so much trauma around having a catheter since my first surgery I had a catheter for six weeks then I had a complication and I had to have a catheter for two weeks and my last surgery I had a catheter for seven weeks and now here I am with a catheter for who knows how long.

It’s a difficult time because it's really early so a lot could happen. Things could heal up and be fine or everything could fall apart and I just have to sit here and wait for it to happen. I’m so tired of all of this and could really use some help from the community so if anyone has any advice or uplifting words that would be really great.

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. Complications are devastating and incredibly disheartening.

As I'm sure you know, UL is often the trickiest part of everything. They can fix nearly anything but it's incredibly frustrating just how long it all can take. Especially when you need more procedures than you initially expected.

You're definitely not alone in this. I had my UL fixed 6 weeks ago. I was supposed to have a cath for 3 weeks, which turned into 5, which turned into 7... and I wouldn't be surprised if next week they'll tell me they're gonna swap my current foley for an SP again. Catheters simply suck and life is so much better without them. It sucks to need them, it sucks to have them for longer than intended.

I'm at a similar place as you. Either everything will heal and I will be completely fine and able to STP in a few weeks. OR I will get an SP again and have another repair surgery. It's exhausting, it's depressing, it's anxiety inducing. I 100% feel you on that.

I try to keep my eye on the prize. At the end of all this, I will be able to STP and I will have a functional UL. It's taking longer than I had hoped. But I will live the rest of my life with my dick and UL. That's what I try to keep in mind. As endless as it feels, this is only temporary.

Hang in there. It sucks, but you will get through. You're gonna be okay, as shitty as everything may feel right now. We got this.
She doesn't have high hopes her repair went well. I'd almost feel bad for her if she wasn't lying and encouraging people —including children— into getting these awful surgeries. This is just karma.
Lol d00leys is going to end up an Urban Legend, a gender-affirming cryptid, she's like the Copey-"man", if you post "I think this was a mistake" or "I'm having second thoughts" 5 times while standing in front of a mirror, d00leys will appear to cope-post and tell you it wasn't a mistake, systemic infections, fistulas and catheters are a normal part of these totally necessary and life saving procedures, and not to worry only a few more years and a few dozen revisions and infections later and that troublesome little catheter will be out and you get to spend the rest of your shortened and pain filled life with your rotdog/stinkditch.

Speaking of d00leys, she has posted another 'I can do this' post.

You're 100% right and I'm not disagreeing with it. But it seems the worse things are (like, at a trauma center/ER), the less courtesy is provided. It's like they don't even see it as gallows humor, they don't realize they're "not normal" and this isn't polite conversation.

Not defending it, I've just seen it. Sometimes it seems they're not even "present" at work, and it's some kind of calloused uniform they put on when they clock in. Nobody knows how bad it is when they sign up, all bright eyed and bushy tailed, few take it as well as they think.

So, this is the 'dilate' for FTMs. Keeping the sausage at the most awkward position possible or it will lose circulation and rot. "Wear until your surgeon tell you to stop or when you feel like it". Sure.

Name another surgical procedure with a high complication rate (which almost guarantees a revision) but 100% satisfaction rate?
This gentleman was diagnosed with a condition that normally affects natal women who have undergone radiation therapy in the pelvic area.
And this is what happens when they sell transitioning as the only option. He literally says he wouldn’t choose it but he just wanted to feel comfortable in his body. The poor guy ruined his life and his body because they told him that was the only way he’d be be okay.

Here's a metoidioplasty I found interesting. This one claims to be born intersex.

I've noticed a lot of TiFs like genital piercings. Quite a few on the phallo sub have mentioned wanting to get a 'Prince Albert' piercing in the future.
For alot of TiFs it seems like being trans is just a logical step in their body modification fetish. Especially the teet yeets. Theyre proud of those gigantic scars.

An instrumentalist getting her arm hacked up is right up there with the ones who not only sing, but are fucking vocal performance majors, who start T.

How do people this stupid make it through basic tasks like crossing the street or boiling water without dying?

“I just played my bass guitar for a bit…”

jesus fucking christ this dumbass. Playing your instrument for “a bit” is not nearly on the same level as playing it for hours, and, if a string instrument, using very intricate movements with all parts of the hand/wrist/forearm. Same goes for artists or any profession that relies on delicate arm movements.

like i said in my last post dooleys really weirds me out

No, Jesus, no.

I have heard the rumor that Jon Hamm has to get his trousers altered because he hangs dong.

The fact that normal man undies will never fit you should be a good tip off to the fact that you fucked up.

Rest easy in the fact that for the rest of her life, people who don't immediately recognize an SRS scar will automatically assume that they're dealing with a moron who was too stupid to boil water without dying.

Of the myriad horrors in this thread, I somehow find this the most grim. The contrast between the casual, almost flippant tone (complete with MS Paint cartoon "phallus") and the incredibly disturbing subject matter is having a psychological effect that I can't really describe.

It's rare that this happens, but I stand before you completely sneedless.
