I get your frustration but her parents should've protected her at age 13. She never had a fighting chance, though, with a tranny for a step-parent. All the adults around her failed her. I actually think it's sad that she says she doesn't blame those around her but takes responsibility herself. No single person around should have entertained what she was saying.

I don't really think cancer mastectomies heal that much better, I think that what happens is that people who have cancer mastectomies feel really bad about their bodies for a long time before they feel comfortable taking a picture of it. Many of them are dealing with years of cancer treatment before they even think about posting a pic of what happened surgically. The TIFs are *proud* of their surgeries and post pictures right away. All the differences in this thread that were highlighted just looked like older scars vs newer scars to me. The difference time makes in scarring is a huge deal, especially after the 5 year mark.
I keep seeing this over and over again. Healthy people have no idea what it is like to be disabled, or deal with chronic pain. I bet that if these patients were required to poke their fingers twice a day for several weeks (like many diabetics have to), they would tap out before surgery. Saying to someone "you will be in pain every day for several years" means nothing to people who have never been in pain every day for even a month.
I read a post the other night here and couldn't find it, making fun of KC for seeming to think that transitioning would prevent her from being raped again. I wanted to quote it but oh well. The way the human brain solves emotional problems is through symbolic measures, which often provide closure and catharsis to people, but also results in broken people with maladaptive behaviors. Someone might know logically that checking the stove 7 times won't prevent burning to death more than checking 1 or 2 times, but it is the terror that results from not doing the irrational thing that drives anxiety disorders. A lot of CSA victims overeat or starve themselves for the same reason. They can't emotionally accept that sexual abuse can happen again so their mind tries to solve the problem symbolically. It tries to separate society into those who are raped vs those who aren't and try to find a way to swap groups. Maybe KC had a brother that was unharmed. The difference is that usually anxiety disorder sufferers aren't cheered on for the maladaptive thing they are doing, they usually are told it is irrational and a bad idea, and that helps them stop doing it. This is like if therapists handed out tools for their OCD patients to help them make sure they are doing their rituals the correct number of times, I can't think of a worse thing to do to them. How about the realization that none of the equipment really works, is a pain to manage, and has effectively rendered you desensitized and sterile? How about when all of this cripples your 40-year-old (if you're lucky) self, and you're unable to get away with the exacerbating ailments because you no longer have the resilience of youth? How about when your 60-year-old (if you're really lucky) mind starts to slip and the dissonance kicks in hard, causing you to claw at body parts that don't match your perceptions?

Yes, I agree. A solid (snake) middle finger to all the adults who should've known better and protected that child.
