You write this like you get wired mice cables stuck inside your dick or something. It's not that damn hard to not have your cable not get tangled. It's called cable management for a reason. Go to walmart, buy some zipties, learn how to use em. Here's a video guide since I feel like you might need it.

Personally I'm a fan of those velcro ties you can cut to a given length, you can get them fairly cheap on Aliexpress. Here's a link of the offer I bought it from, you can get 5 meters of this stuff for pennies with free shipping, so it's not like it's a big loss if it somehow gets lost in the shipping. Aliexpress has a good refund policy on lost packages anyway.

I prefer using these little pieces of wire:

They come with whatever cable you bought (or really any electronic device, binding its cables within the packaging) so technically you get them for free, as a bonus. And, unlike zipties, they are reusable. I always keep them handy in case I need to do some cable management.

I can't believe I never thought about that, always seen them as trash. Anyway except for the cables not on my desk I've pretty much never had the need to organize them too much. I just put everything through the hole in the middle of the monitor stand. I really can't think of any reason to use anything else unless somehow you have 50 different cords on the desk, in which surely you just downsize all the useless cables?

Also going back to the issue of snagging mouse cable, I do not have that issue. My desk has plenty of empty space, enough that if I move my keyboard to the edge my cat can lay down in front of me without interfering, and the mouse cable is just hanging loosely enough to the back of the desk that it's not under tension. The rest is routed on a cable organizer. It's really not an issue if you have enough space to make it loose.
I've got shoulder damage and live in a place with socialized healthcare, so I'm basically running it this way.

Wired mice is a pain in the ass.

Kensington expert. I like em hefty.
Wireless or non wireless? The wired ones have archaic sensors as opposed to the upgraded and (imo) better sensors in the wireless. Anyways kensington products have failed for me too many times so i have since moved to a ploopy classic.

Wired. It does for me, but I may try the wireless next time I need to update, now you've mentioned that.

I am doubting the "many regular listeners" quote more than the fact that it was the hosts that decided to kill it rather than Linus in efforts to cut costs. It's dead because it had no listeners/watchers compared to any other LMG channel, just take a look at their viewership https://www.youtube.com/@TheyreJustMovies/videos. Additionally if you look at their socialblade, they very rarely crack even 5K views per day and they havent even gotten 100K views in the past month, even Mac Address which i still consider to be a fairly niche LMG channel is doing 100K+ views per day.
Holy fucking shit those thumbnails are pure cancer

If you aren't on your PC 24/7, you can definitely find an hour to charge all your gear.

This just baffles me. He's showcasing a speaker. He doesn't say a word about the sound quality, doesn't even plug it in via AUX. Only said a couple words about how this ugly fucking thing is made of "metal and plastic", supposedly indicating good build quality. Then just tells us to pay 150$ extra and buy some Sony speaker he shilled for at the end. He sounds drunk. All we really get to see is more crossdressing from Linus. Why does ShortCircut exist, if they don't review anything in their "reviews"? They never even bother using most of the features they mention, when it would have taken them a couple minutes extra.
Short Circuit is such a stupid idea, it was made to bring back the old tech unboxings/ showcasing.

This is just washing any main channel revenue down the drain.

I'm not so sure about short circuit losing any revenue, after all not only they get this shit for free, they quite often get sponsored to show it.
However, this doesn't change the fact it's fucking stupid. Their "hurrrrr it's not a review, it's first impressions!" shtick makes this whole ordeal absolutely useless for anyone, especially when they get something more unique than a basic monitor screen. LTT crew has no imagination so these soybrained retards can't think of any real uses or potential of the more unique tech. But this doesn't really matter because in the end it's a goddamn ad channel masquerading as something else. As i said before, a lot of these videos are sponsored by manufacturers of sent items so obviously they can't say bad things about showcased stuff.

The embargo on the new AMD cards ended today and Linus' review is the one I don't trust at all, not only because of how he's basically team red because Nvidia are meanies (true but you suck their dick all the time), but because I don't trust any of the benchmarks done in their reviews going by how bad they were since the Labs started doing stuff. With regards to AMD making stuff better over time with drivers, he tries to Tim Pool fence sit but we've seen them fix stuff consistently. And 8K is gay.

A cursory glance has GamersNexus seeming to confirm those results. It doesn't beat the RTX 4090.

Linus' review is the one I don't trust at all,
Intel ARC: Is worse than AMD and Nvidia except for AV1 encoding and a few edge cases.
LTT: Buy arc as a middle finger to big corps

AMD GPU: The high-end model is cheaper than a 4080 while being more powerful.
LTT: Compared it to a 4090 and call it shit.

I wonder if AMD threw money at Linus he wouldn't be a Intel/Nvidia fanboy

Of course, there was never any chance AMD would be beating the 4090, or confidently beating the 4080 across the board. They very carefully used the phrase "Fastest under $1000" during their presentation. But I'm pleasantly surprised to see that this isn't a cope moment and they actually do have a card competitive with the 4080, at launch, without "we'll get better drivers" BS.

It'd be nice if they competed with the 4090 too, but the 4090 is so overkill for anything except hobbyist ML, high refresh rate 4k, or high end VR. fewer than 99.9% of gamers can make full use of it.

Absolutely embarrassing for NVIDIA here, eager to see how the 4070 launch is affected.

Actually i do think there is a pretty good chance that they could technically outperform the 4090 (in raster) with a theoretical 7950XTX
The main graphics "chiplet" of the 7900XTX is "just" 300 mm², so they could theoretically just make a considerably bigger and faster "7950XTX" card.
That just makes little sense right now, because A) The 4090 just released and was probably bought by anyone interested in a 1000$+ GPU, so making something 10% faster now would probably sell nowhere near as good and B) because the drivers/architecture dont seem entirely finished right now and releasing the 90 class competitor later would mean more reliable performance and fewer games that run like shit. By that time FSR3 should also be ready.

I would not be surprised if they decide to later compete (in raster) with the 4090ti with a bigger graphics die and more mature drivers.
At 300mm² they still have quite a bit of theoretical headroom. The 4090 by comparison is more than twice as big at 608mm². (even the slower 4080 is bigger at 379mm²)
It is nowhere near twice as fast though, because a good chunk of that 608mm² is spent on cache whereas AMDs cache is mostly contained in the chiplets.

Chiplets are not a magic bullet, but they enable AMD to (theoretically) make a bigger "pure" GPU die than they (or Nvidia)could with a monolithic design that has to include all cache on the same die as the rest of the GPU.
All of that is theoretical though, and they may very well try to do that next gen instead, as the current global economic "whoopsy" is just making for a very weird GPU market.
