Better stand up for my delusional brother by encouraging young children to get on Lupron ASAP! Great work, American Girl brand. You’ve really picked some top notch representation here.
This is really good information. I knew there had to be a troon involved somewhere, but I didn't have the energy to dig for info. Much appreciated!

Mel and her brother should both be held responsible for this disgusting nonsense - Mel for writing it, and the brother for no doubt shoving "if I had transitioned at eight I would be a beautiful ladylike passing delicate flower and not this violent hulking man who keeps punching holes in the drywall!" down Mel's throat for years while living in their parents' basement and scaring small children.

And with a name like that, you just know what girl group he grew up fetishizing.

Especially when their previous books, like The Care and Keeping of You, were all about explaining and normalizing puberty, which can be a scary time. When you're telling kids "but, hey, you actually don't have to go through this if you don't care too much about your bones," you're hurting them. There's no getting away from that.
Right? My favorite part is that the book apparently follows up the trans ideology with a page about body dysmorphia and how serious and harmful it is. Oh.. body dysmorphia? Like what you're literally seeking to drive children into feeling by telling them to focus on how weird and scary puberty is until they go to the doctor and beg them to stop it from happening? That body dysmorphia?

But no, no, we can't have kids thinking going through natural puberty is normal and, well, natural, because then they might not become brave little celibate sexless sterilized transkids with brave stunning disintegrating bones! And then who would the trans adults point to in order to validate their perversion? Won't anybody think of the adult heterosexual male shut-ins with bolt-ons and hard-ons?

Goddd this shit makes me mad. Tophat me, I don't care. You don't go around telling kids their bodies are wrong and they should medicalize themselves to "fix" them. The only upshot of this situation is that AG will definitely pay for it - they're a dying company already and their bread and butter were middle and upper class right-leaning white mothers and grandmothers who grew up with American Girl dolls and who are now, en masse, pledging not to give them another dime unless they discontinue this book, publicly apologize and swear never to publish anything like this again, which they can't do without being subject to bombing threats from antranfa warriors. Good luck, AG! You've built quite the minefield.

(If you want a chuckle, go check out the reviews of the book on the American Girl website. Normie and conservative mums and grammas alike are flocking to it to express their feelings about AG's latest statement piece. Something tells me Mel won't have a job for very much longer, to put it mildly.)

Oh wow, the reviews are great. I actually thought this was an updated Care & Keeping of You, but it seems like they're still publishing those books as they were.

I weirdly always thought they were a progressive company, maybe just because diversity rep was always a big deal for them and they've had other mini scandals before. But they previously threaded the needle better with keeping it "real" - whether it's just being frank about puberty or not shying away from complicated parts of history. Sucks to suck now!

I'm semi-familiar with some of the adult collector community around American Girl dolls (I'm not one myself, but I was interested in rehabbing busted up ones), and how I've always seen it before this debacle is that AG was progressive in a very real way, which is to say they care deeply about representing and telling stories that all little girls can relate to and which educate children on historical eras while featuring protagonists that look and behave like all different kinds of little girls and their peers, without being sanctimonious or self-righteous about it in the least, and this drives (a certain subset of) the adult collectors absolutely batshit because they're primarily gender-brained adult children who strongly believe there's no such thing as "progressive enough." They lose their minds whenever AG presents a new light-skinned doll, constantly demand that every new doll AG puts out must be from a different highly specific racial minority group, demand trans-identified dolls, and shun collectors who only have light-skinned dolls, just for a start. I remember viewing a discussion in which it was deemed racist to support the next historical doll (themed to the 1980s) being white rather than black, even though the original plans AG had for the doll were white and they seem to have changed it due to the requests and demands of collectors. They also absolutely lost their dang minds when AG did a collab recently with Harry Potter to sell little Hogwarts wizard robes for dolls (which were adorable) and claimed AG was "siding with genocide". Clearly, this book was a move towards placating and "including" that subset of adult collectors. (I use "adult" loosely as most of the women I observed in these groups - which were on a "younger" social media platform - were 25 at the absolute oldest.)

The problem for AG will come with the fact that these adult collectors already own a ton of dolls and are unlikely to buy many more, and frequently buy secondhand dolls. They're not the ones shelling out for AG dolls en masse. That group are mostly normie moms and grandmothers who want to give their kids and grandkids the same wholesome experiences with their beloved American Girl doll that they had when they were kids, and those people are not going to stand for this shit. For that matter, neither are the sane "adult-adult" collectors who inhabit other various parts of the internet or just quietly collect and keep it to themselves.

I miss how fearless AG used to be in telling difficult stories in a smart and child-friendly way while providing beloved family heirlooms that kids could still hug and play with. Now they're telling little kids that if puberty is hard, they can just sterilize themselves and destroy their bones to stop it. From courage to utter, total cowardice. How sad.

You know Mel Hammond really believes that her brother wouldn’t be an angry, dangerous man if only he had been properly chemically castrated as a child and lived as his true & honest girl self. Lol! She is the worst kind of handmaiden, literally harming children because of a mentally ill adult man.

A detransitioner appears in the reviews. I wonder if Tony gets some kind of bat signal when a detransitioner woman speaks, so he can go yell over her and say she doesn’t count? Must be inconvenient when he’s already mid-dilation.

Ol' Gaptooth took their partner on a date to some bookstore that also sells food, something about the picture gave me serious uncanny valley vibes.

Maybe it's the eyes, maybe it's the nose at an angle paired with the hairline being scuffed to high heaven. Hell, even the tear ducts on the eyes aren't even symmetrical.

I'd just like to remind everyone that this is an elected representative of Montana's 100th House district and might just represent you if you live there.

Tony really should give The Strand a Christmas bonus for all the hard work it's done this year. I don't think Zac Raasch / Zooey Zephyr has had FFS, I wonder if he'll try to get his hairline lowered (because Tony had so much success with it!).

Edit: Also, is that dandruff in Tony's hair?

"Dealing in schedule IV controlled substance" ah, so he sold benzos just like Tony! Piece of shit. Benzos are very dangerous and addictive even when used as prescribed. I have no chill for people who sell prescription drugs, that type of scum makes it so much harder on legitimate patients and practitioners.

As Tony has experienced first-hand:
Erin describes going through benzo withdrawal:
"Wow. This is :feelsbadman:
I have been on 2mg xanax a day for 2 weeks, with random days with maybe 1 more mg.. and I'm completely out.
If 2mg withdrawal a day is this bad, damn, I can't imagine the people that take 3 of these a day for years..."
From @Raven Rainbow 's superb Erin Reed drug abuse history (Future Employers' Edition™), which I recommend to all if you missed it the first time around.

he sold benzos just like Tony!
I'm being pedantic, but Tony claims he didn't sell the xanax, just gave it away when his acid customers had a bad trip, so they would keep buying acid from him.
From slinging acid & telling people to call HIM for a bad-trip antidote instead of a medical professional, to pushing Lupron and HRT for minors. This is the guy screaming Protect Trans Kids (by sending them to chat with Big Tony, of course!)
I don't think Tony's Reddit post about this was ever transcribed, so it's below for searching purposes. For those keeping score, Tony deleted the post on Reddit after we spotted it. (old.reddit.com, archive.ph)

Tony said:
This, this, this a thousand times. This needs to be upvoted like crazy.

Here's a story. A long time ago I was an acid dealer. I dealt a whole lot of it. I did it for years without getting caught. Now think about this… All the people that I sold to, you'd think it would be quite easy for me to get caught whenever freakouts like these happen all the time, right?

WRONG. Here's what I told all of my customers. "If you feel like you are going to freak out, or that you've taken too much, do NOT call the cops or 911. Call me. I am your 911. I have the antidote."

I always kept 20 2mg instant release xanax on hand. I was called about 5-10 times through my "career" and each time even though it cost me money and I did it for free, I stopped myself from going to jail and helped this person not have his life ruined. I'd drive almost 45 minutes away at times and enter the room, where the person was in the beginning stages of what is described in this story by the OP, and crush a full 2mg xanax bar. I'd put it in a shot glass, throw in a little soda or juice, and hand it to the person, who would down it. Then I put some more and had them do it again.

Usually within 15 minutes they were either asleep, or they had "come down" and were not even nearly freaking out anymore.

I never used Seroquel or anything else, just Xanax. It always worked just fine for my customers.

Keep in mind, OP, this in the future: 1) Know your drug. This all could have been prevented by knowing the strength and substance you were taking. Consider purchasing a full reagent spectrum test kit. Its about 75 dollars, but you can test anything. In this case, an ehrlich's reagent on a porcelin plate, with a drip of the substance in the puddle, would have turned it straight purple. Then you would have known if it was LSD instead of possibly DOB or DOC, which is well known for violent reactions like you described.

2) Know your body. Set and setting. There was something wrong about the mindset that made this guy not particularly keen for high dose trips, and the setting sent him into a bad place.

3) Know your dose. Start small, don't depend on others subjective experiences with the dose to dose yourself.

4) Be prepared for the worse. Always keep benzos and "safety nets" ready.

It's funny, reading through this, because it's even got Tony's trademark "whenever" instead of "when". Some choice quotes:
  • "I always kept 20 2mg instant release xanax on hand."
  • "I'd drive almost 45 minutes away at times and enter the room, […] crush a full 2mg xanax bar. […] Then I put some more and had them do it again."
  • "I never used Seroquel or anything else, just Xanax. It always worked just fine for my customers."
  • "Be prepared for the worse. Always keep benzos and "safety nets" ready."

It's been a minute since I was on Tumblr but I seem to recall Tegan and Sara being pRoBlEmAtIc to troons for some reason. Maybe adding the h makes it okay.
Pretty sure they went full handmaiden and tweeted about "fuck TERFs" a long time ago. Though who knows, maybe they didn't suck the girldick enthusiastically enough at some point.

That book looks fine, actually? And very on-brand for AG prior to this trans-promotion fiasco. It actually is important to teach kids about race and racism, if only because it's so important and present in American life. The example pages on the website look good - it seems to just be educating about how race functions within society and how important it is to not be a racist shithead, and to value all different kinds of people and not just the ones that look like you. Those are valuable lessons for little kids. This is a solid and valuable children's book that can help parents tackle one of those subjects that are really hard to figure out a good approach to. You know, assuming there's not something crazy hidden in the book that isn't in the example pages - but if there was, I highly doubt there would only be three reviews, of which the only negative one comes from the kind of person you expect to start going off about how the Holocaust never happened and the moon landing was faked.

Honestly this is a great example of how this whole shitshow will effect AG as a company, though. They've been pretty solid and positive up until this, but now everyone is going to be going through their back catalog with a fine toothed comb looking for any other "evidence" against them as a company. Perfectly normal and valuable children's educational books are now going to be scrutinized for signs of - depending on who is doing the scrutinizing - harmful ideologically-biased and anti-science content (normies) or "dangerous" wokeness such as acknowledging racism exists or saying kids should get their vaccines so they don't get polio (loons who watch too much Fox News). All while not buying any of their products anymore. They shot themselves in the collective foot with this one.

All I see here is the genocide of having the wrong gender listed on her incarceration records. This is how the system victimizes innocent trans women twice.

I think the problem with it is that it pushes the idea to children that in order to not be racist you need to be an ideological anti-racism activist. That's why I referred to it as a catechism book.

He’s wearing that daisy dress with some kind of skirt over it :story: you know he’s like “wow this is so girly uwu, getting dressed up in outfits together!!1!” while dressing himself like a tacky clown. it's kinda riotous that a bunch of people voted for this weirdo. i know most of them just went down the party line and voted for whoever and that's how this mistake shook out, but lmao. no real female politician, hell no gay politician, would be caught dead dressing in cringey fetish gear and taking sexy "i got sexually harassed" on the streets selfies, let alone advertising it on their own twitter. i wonder what the voters would think if they were to stumble into their representitive's antics.

also wasn't this shit a polycule? where's the other one?

This implies Erin Reed is embarrassed by his style choice, and from how many times he wears his lego earrings, you know he ain't.

Edit: So how long is his and Zephyr's relationship going to last? When the next election happens and an even more successful troon with an open polycule will pop in?

These are not normal things to tell young girls they need to do. This is political indoctrination telling kids to waste their time and money on BLM shit to achieve racial forgiveness:
