To be honest I don't really get people here being upset about content on AO3, not when you're browsing a site like Kiwifarms. AO3 has always had a free-speech-maximalist ethos, so of course anyone who wants to write weird crazy stuff is going to do it there rather than anywhere else. And even though I despise anyone writing pedo shit, I think the people running the site correctly suspect that if they ever started cracking down on legal content for "moral" reasons, however justified, it would open a floodgate of SJW scolds demanding more and more censorship, and I do sympathize with that.

(Full disclosure, I know someone who is involved with OTW, which is the organization behind AO3, so I am familiar with the type of bullshit they fight off)

To make up for all the OT, here is a Tumblr story about someone's hospital experience post-phalloplasty. It is a long read but I promise it is worth it, if only to get to the "20cm long by 6cm wide by 4cm deep crater of necrotic tissue and spider webs [o]f slough."

I've been taking a look at him and found some things.

Dr Sajan was very quick with my consult. He described his procedure. He is aggressive with extraction and takes all layers of fat. So.. your basically left with skin over muscle (plus any spots of fat that get missed. He estimated 70% fat is preserved. When I asked about before/after photos of his results. He informed me there were a LOT of pictures on his Instagram and he just recently uploaded some. After my appointment I went and looked at his Instagram again... For 45 minutes and could only find ONE example of his work. Considering his cost and the aggressive approach to fat extraction... I'd prefer to see pics to know what I'm getting into since I won't get a second chance.... but no pics. I'm wondering if it's a red flag that he deferred me to his Instagram for results... And later his staff informing me he must have been confused as they only have one at they moment.

3 weeks post op on BBL with breast implants in two weeks ama​

I’m bored and tired of not sitting around so feel free to ask me anything, I had bottom surgery with doctor satterwhite last October and Dr Jonov did my bbl. Recovery is pretty easy it’s mostly just avoiding putting any pressure on your hips or butt and sleeping on your stomach. I only used pain meds for two days. I’m on the lean side and got good results in my opinion. My waist is 3 inches smaller and still swollen so I could lose anther inch which would put me at 32, 38 waist to hips.
My implants will be with dr Sajan, they’ll be viewable on snap chat If anyone is interested in watching. Not sure I’m allowed to post the link or not. If I am I’ll edit this to include it. The implants will be 500cc silicone they’ll be done transaxiallary on August 12th. I’m super excited.
Also around surgery time at least two weeks before and after I eat a plant based diet to help with recovery and reduce inflammation. It seems to work but could also be luck. I’ve seen some studies supporting it so I’m sticking with it.
Anyway ama I’ll be answering questions all day.

Edit, I wanted to add that getting a bbl before getting a ba is recommended. The bbl improved the look and shape of my breast and if you compare before and afters of both you’ll probably notice that implants look more natural when the waist and hips appear more feminine. That’s my opinion anyway.

Shocking that this Dr. Sajan would perform a boobjob only 5 weeks after a BBL, which if anyone doesn't know, is a very risky and controversial surgery.

With my ba the trans method is Sajan’s preference. He told me that in doing them under the fold he had higher rates of the implants settling asymmetrical and increased complications with the healing of the incision, especially with lager implants. Also for a bonus it’ll mean one less scare that’ll be visible. Cuz a lot of trans women don’t have much of a fold before surgery the scare ends up being more visible than it would be on a cis woman.

Most SRS doctors are absolutely terrible at contacting patients and never pursue any due to high demand. Most Trans are "lucky" if they even get a consult booked within 2 years.

All the SRS surgeons are shady but this dude seems to be even worse than most.

the atmosphere was very much a "live and let live" (or "write and let write", and they wouldn't judge you for liking a certain pairing or disliking another. Maybe the anime fandoms were different (I wouldn't know; I never hung around in those spaces) and the rot spread from there.

I will note that I was mostly in the anime fandoms so I guess it was different. I do remember a lot of people looked down on shipping real people so those fangirls were seen as the 'bad apples'. It feels like it switched over to being completely okay very very quickly.

I've been thinking a bit more and one big difference from today is that the smut wasn't so in your face back then. If you went on somewhere like fanfiction.net you needed to specifically opt in to seeing that kinda shit whereas now on tumblr or twitter you are bombarded with hardcore shit if you so much as search for any TV show, anime, etc.

I did have a tumblr in the golden age (2010ish) and even though I wasn't there for raunchy fandom shit it would inevitably end up in front of me due to the shitty non-existent censorship and tagging system. Tumblr was the only site I refused to go on at school because you just couldn't control what came up on the dashboard.

Hi all, me again. I hope y'all don't mind me posting so much but it keeps me sane, and I hope maybe I can help someone with my experiences.

So my hematoma is doing a LOT better, I have little to no pain and when I do have pain it's maybe a 2/10. I decided to include some healing pictures so that people can see what it looks like and not freak out if it happens to them. I didn't see a lot of examples of something that looked like this so I wanted to share it in case it helps someone in the future. Right now it's a very open wound. There's like a 1" by .5" hole in the hematoma. That's distressing but it's actually a good thing, it means it's draining and that I'm not in pain.

On the other hand, unfortunately I started noticing some discoloration last Friday which spread. I had a little bit of a fever over the weekend as well, although it never got higher than 101. It looks like I have a bit of an infection and maybe some necrosis. Right now I'm on antibiotics and I'm using silvadene on it and my team seems to think that it's not something I have to be uber concerned about. They want to take action, but it doesn't seem like I'm in any danger of my dick falling off or anything. They told me to scrub it really well in the shower and as you can see it definitely helped. I feel like it already looks a little better and that was before I put any silvadene on it.

I'm going home Thursday. I'm a little nervous to go home, but I'm only 3 hours away so if something happens I can get back to the hospital. I'm getting sick of being in the city and dealing with all of this. I'm exhausted and I'm kind of tired of being an open wound. I feel like I have a team of people who know what they're doing, but I also feel like some people I've been working with don't really humanize me enough. I'm tired of being touched all the time and having photos taken of me, and people are not always clear when they communicate what's happening to me. I also had a little fainting episode this morning at OT so today was just a difficult day in general.
