The Empire has an army and will be at war with the Thalmor again in a decade or two. They're juat humoring the Thalmor.

One thing I didn't like was how cool the Emperor was with you killing him. Nah it's fine it is what it is. The Empire will be fine losing a skilled, competent emperor. Almost like it's all part of some super complicated and awesome plan to get the Thalmor to stop teabagging the Empire. Whatever that plan is.

Titus Mede II is the one that gathered the last strength of the Empire and wrecked the Thalmor army in Cyrodiil to save the Empire from being totally conquered by those dirty elves. He was portrayed as being good at politics and soldiering.

lol Titus Mede II literally had a body double leading the charge against the Thalmor in the Imperial City.

As far as good at politics...I mean he's lost Hammerfell, saw Skyrim enter Civil War and is unable to put a decisive end to it, has High Rock basically playing "let's wait and see" with Ulfric and has his court actively scheming to have him assassinated.

I don't know WTF game you played but it wasn't Skyrim.
