Even random innocuous bits of conversation are repulsive. One of the game's creators objects to a silly Simpsons style joke, referencing the kind of educational posters you'd see in any school, presumably because Jefferson owned slaves or it promotes founding fathers worship or some shit.

So I've been lurking in the server for the past day or so... there's really not much activity in here. The game was badly received but at least there was some kind of fanbase at first, I think they all moved on by now since it's been delayed like... three times? Four? Is ANYONE excited for this at all?

As a side note I'm surprised they didn't try to go for the Switch, I think GVH would've been received way better on that console. Maybe Nintendo told them to fuck off because their main audience is families and young kids and the genderspecial talk was not appropriate?

Nah, I think they didn't go fo the SWITCH because knowing how greedy Nintendo gets they would probably charge the devs through the nose.

I doubt Nintendo declined themselves, given what else you can find on the platform these days. Their previous stuff, GNOG, was on PS4/PSVR, right? I figured they had some deal with Sony, considering their reveal for it with Sony's "Future of Gaming" stuff.
I went to Wikipedia to see if there's any info about Sony's involvement with it, but the page is so sparse, so I can't say for sure. It does mention Snoot Game, though, that's kind of funny:

From what I've seen, detractors are the only people paying any mind to this game. If you're unironically a fan, there just hasn't been anything new to talk about in years. Just look at the comments in the latest announcement on Steam:

They didn't go for Switch because none of them know anything about actual game development and they wouldn't be able to optimize it to make it run at more than 10 FPS. More power means they can be lazy. If there's a horrible memory leak they can just shrug and tell people to keep their game sessions shorter than 5 hours.
