I agree, but don't? The problem with Batman now is how far removed he is from BTAS. Probably because of comics being on-going, and probably also due to Brave & The Bold as that series holds a surprising amount of influence on DC currently. Batman is currently heading down the opposite direction of BTAS. We are moving towards more traditional Bright Knight than Dark Knight, which leaves some weird affects.
I say Catwoman and Batman should be together as Bat-media has basically designated Catwoman as just a Batman ally for years now. She is rarely a villain anymore. Batman is also just a lot healthier as he keeps gaining allies on a regular basis. Neither really suffers from their issues, which makes the lack of progress feel like a cop-out. They keep pushing to go down this route, but unlike B&B they don't commit.
Harley and Ivy are another modern comics wanting to take the characters in a new direction. I don't think a Harley redemption is that much of a stretch. Other than Victor, Batman always seemed the kindest towards her in BTAS and they played around with her going straight twice. The obvious end to her story was leaving the Joker, the problem is that no one figured out the after to that. The only answers are either 'be gay do crimes', become a hero, or become a wagie cuck with porn offers. The most realistic one is the last, but given comics still need her to appear, I would rather the middle if I am being honest. (The continuing nature of comics is also why Victor should just work with Batman, rather than the logical Arkham Knight ending) At least then she actually grows from her narrative. As for Ivy, if they want a redemption, then do it. I agree that she is the one who makes the least sense, but since stories are hellbent on her changing and growing with Harley, then they just need to write it out rather then playing the will she won't she for eternity.
Really, I think modern Batman is like a weird mix of all the eras. It has the 70s-2000s runs as a starting point, but is now morphing the universe into a more colorful period like the 60s era. Batman and Gotham don't become more damaged over time, they become better. Some interesting story possibilities could come from that, but not many are.
