reddit is full of absolute lunatics like this and they're not difficult to find.

I can't actually comprehend the mental illness that this woman has. Pretending that stuffed animals talk to you and love you back is already pants-shitting levels of delusion as it is. Pretending that the stuffed animals have recurring illnesses and trauma backstories (and fucking logistical issues with fictitious birth certificates?!) is a level of debilitating autism that hurts to even think about.

That's the level of delusion that warrants a stay in a mental ward, preferably in a straitjacket (if they can find one large enough, lol fat). But instead she'll post on reddit to either be met with enablers or shitty advice from equally autistic people

My hypothesis as for why that's the case is that the upvote system encourages people to construct the wittiest, least-substantial comments they can in order to farm the largest number of instinctual upvotes as possible. What makes this even worse is the fact that heavily-downvoted comments on posts are hidden, so there's an actual incentive beyond "le internet points" to appeal to the greatest number of people possible. Doing otherwise is sabotaging your ability to engage in conversation on the platform.
I'm pretty sure hiding downvotes was done initially as an attempt to hide spam (can't remember where I heard that from though). Thing is dislikes are used for a lot more than just "hiding spam" on every other social media so I'm not sure what the hell they were thinking at the time. Nowadays with the new management of reddit they seem to like the way comments are displayed enough to not change anything. My guess is because it keeps subreddits cohesive in the sense when you look at the comments it's all the same opinions and jokes with any disagreements hidden from the average user to keep scrooooling to the next post without engaging in the comments as much (for most subs at least, definitely not the case for AskReddit or subs like it). You see more ads the more you scroll so maybe that is what they want after all.

Reddit totally falls for a fake banned books list because le Republican fascists and the op knew it was fake but defended posting it with it’s just a meme bro
All these rational, critical thinkers, failing to do even the most basic amount of research.

Best part:

Almost all of the posts pointing out the list is fake, with proof, were removed by a mod.

I hate the fact that so many comments get removed by reddit jannies. They can't even let bad comments get downvoted to the bottom of the page, no they have to remove literally everything.
Makes browsing comments such a shitty experience when half of the comments aren't even there while the replies to them remain up

"The list is completely nonsensical? But that just makes it all the more real! DAE repooblecans dumb lol"
Classic reddit moment.

like say being in a default sub for [sport] and asking why there is a stickied post about some literal who athlete who said "trans rights" or commenting on r/news that some obvious propaganda is obvious propaganda.
Kyrie needs to come out and support trans rights so I can watch all the sports subs have a complete fucking meltdown.

Enjoy another dose of r/egg_irl autism.

I'd feel bad for all of these delusional trannies if their memes weren't so goddamn unfunny.

"Nonbinary femboy? Transfem?"

Holy shit, they're like if a facebook grandma became a weeb. They need to get some taste or stop posting.

r/WhitePeopleTwitter KNOWINGLY posts satire and tries to pass it off as real. The only reason why that isn't considered a bannable offense is because it pushes their ideology.

I know r/drankthekoolaid was made to call it out, but that's pretty much a dead subreddit in itself (would love to help revive it if I had the time, tbh).

Lmao, so has PewDiePie actually done ANYTHING other than say a naughty word on stream ONCE? Are they pinning the Christchurch bullshit on him?

That is the definition of "cancel culture", fuck. I'm not a huge fan of PDP but nobody lets the man live his life in peace anymore.

He liked or recommended a video by E;R who is a "white supremacist" and was pushing people to the alt-right (Vox article: https://archive.md/bVLL3). I don't blame the man for moving to Japan to live in peace and only make the sporadic video. The media hates him because he's white, successful and doesn't bend to their insane views, even though he himself seems fairly liberal in some respects.
