The community then turned on theendfornow's posts for this. The greater context of the thread is user crystalskies31 is trying to take SN in a hotel bedroom trying not to get discovered and asking for advice and goodbyes. The rules of the site state that giving information for suicide is allowed but help is not. The posts seem to remain pretty factual on the page but given this is to an extent advising OP in real time you could argue the line between information and advice is blurred in this instance. I can't say for sure myself but I'm thinking this is how a lot of suicide helping threads stay up because you can argue it's just information and therefore ok by the rules.

Aside from that everyone else in the thread is taking a neutral stance saying stuff like "safe travels" or calling out theendfornow for his posts. I don't have the page before this one so I can't see the actual "do it" post from theendfornow but the last post in the pdf suggests it was edited by a mod.

My thoughts of the evidence is this is an example of how stretching the "no suicide help" rule can be allowed by a gray inerpretation of the rules. But otherwise I think if anything this shows that these users on the thread do not want any suicide encouragement or persuasion at all and see it in bad taste and against the rules and that nobody wants to deal with theendfornow's bullshit. Which is a lot less damning than the original surface level interpretation we had of one post showing the words "kill yourself" out of context. But don't just take my word for it, you can read through everything I've received from this thread yourself.

Incidentally, there are no interesting or valid criticisms of my video here, so I won't be responding to any of it.

Unsuprisingly Tantacrul came on and offered no meaningful insight. I thought it would have been good to engage with some of the points he made as while flawed would make for a good discussion. If I was a journalist, I interviewed someone, edited the wording of their side of the transcript changing the meaning of everything they said, published it and when people found out and called me out for it and my only response was "there's no valid criticism here, I'm not responding" nobody who saw that would fucking trust me.
