So now that she has been relieved of her last remaining responsibilities (we'll just ignore cleaning the apartment, and she has already made clear that Peetz is not her responsibility) what is left for her in the entirety of life?
Two things. The golden prince Salah, and their newlywed shack in the desert. She has burned her last bridges. She has no fixed address, no possessions, no pets, no friends. She has both the taxman and creditors to hide from. She has indeed erased any reason to remain in Canada and has two compelling reasons to flee it.
I am still of the opinion that there is a greater than 50% chance she will be turned away at Kuwait airport. A second tourist visa after just exhausting all 90 days on the last one a month ago is an automatic red flag. They will instruct her to open her luggage, where they will find dirty pots and pans and greasy kitchen gadgets. These are not things that tourists bring with them on vacation. They will start asking questions. What is your address? Do you have any references? How much money are you carrying? If her answers seem fishy, and how could they not, they will then instruct her to hand over her phone so they can examine texts, recent phone calls, recent social media activity. They will know what to look for; Chantal will not be their first rodeo. If they dig around a little, they will find references to Kuwait as "home", they will learn she has given away her apartment and worldly possessions, they will see the grotesque mockery she makes of Islam, they will learn she is married to some Syrian dupe, but she will be unable to produce any material proof of it.
If they are in a generous mood, they might say, "Okay, we'll let you in on another tourist visa even through we know you are not a tourist. We trust that you will leave in 90 days. And this is the last time you are getting into the country this way". Or, they will tell her, "fuck off back to Canada on the next flight"
Assuming they go with letting her in, she will quickly retreat to her little nest with Salah. Seeing how thick Salah seems to be, I still don't think he appreciates the ramifications of what she is doing. She has no support network left. She has nowhere to go in Canada. It is Kuwait and wedded bliss or bust. In other words, Salah had better be prepared to take care of her for life. She is now a permanent fixture in his life, with all of the embarrassment and trouble it brings. I think he is still thinking he can ditch her after another 90 days if he needs to.
In fact, if she gets into Kuwait, I would not be surprised if she overstays her visa and becomes a fugitive from Kuwaiti justice. Customs will have warned her about the tourist visa already, She can't afford the risk that if she were to leave the country for Dubai to acquire a third tourist visa, she very well probably would be kept from re-entering. So why take the risk? Just stay with Salah and beeze and hide from repercussions.
This is what Salah signed up for, and I think he's too dumb to get it. If Alaa is to be believed, Salah is thinking short-term here. Imagine if she overstays her visa and then Salah kicks her out. She really will have to hide out in the desert then.
This week is very well her last week in Canada for a lengthy time, and it is turning into a significant disaster for her. Are we to expect things will turn around and go smoothly in Kuwait despite her flouting of the rules?
The absolute worst thing she can do right now is actually go through with her plan. And that is precisely what she intends to do.
This week is only a taste of what is to come. The corner she has painted herself into is the mother of all corners this time. And the same goes for Salah.
