Chantal's desperate message at almost 3am reveals that she knew damn well that BBJ's nails were growing into the pads of her feet.

She thinks that the fact that she offered to take BBJ to the vet before handing her over somehow absolves her of any wrongdoing, despite the fact that the initial purpose of the vet appointment was to have BBJ's "quality of life" evaluated, and it was obvious to everyone that Chantal was looking to have her euthanized.
Her desperate 3am offer was to cover her own ass because she was embarrassed of how bad BBJ's nails had gotten and didn't want the new owner to see. Chantal was not offering to take the cat to vet because she was concerned about BBJ, she was offering because she was trying to hide how badly she had been neglecting her.
Also, the receipts confirm that Chantal did not vet the new owner hardly at all. It was an obvious scam of some sort, there were numerous red flags in those messages. Amy Flowers claimed to be bedbound and extremely sick, but Chantal didn't have any questions about how she'd be able to take care of the cat while she was in that condition. She also she sent Chantal long paragraphs lovebombing her and practically begging for the cat, odd behavior that would have made most people suspicious. But Chantal didn't actually care about finding a good home for BBJ, she just wanted to get rid of the cat as fast as possible. With the constant "stalking and harassment" Chantal claims to experience, you'd think she'd be a little more careful about stuff like this, but she took the bait immediately and walked right into FFG's trap.
Chantal should be counting herself lucky that her beloved pet ended up in the hands of competent adults and that "Amy Flowers the bedbound cluster beezer cat savior" story was all bullshit. I'm not a FFG fan but in the past 48 hours she has already taken better care of BBJ than Chantal and Pee ever did.
Karma's a bitch.
