The main reasons are mostly because:
1. FTMs are quite meek and quiet.
2. MFFs are terminally online men, and as such it's easy to find them on the Internet.

Of course, you're right on the perception point - MtF are louder and terminally online - so I can see why that's the type most bump into.

It also probably doesn't help that society is filled with little-bitch males these days, to the point that I've worked with guys the last couple of years where I was convinced they were FtM for weeks, before finding out they were actually "men" the entire time. FtMs blend quite well with guys like that.

I noticed the thing about the boobs immediately too. Makes me wonder how he even knew how big their boobs apparently are in the first place. Even as a woman, I don't know the exact cup sizes of any of my family members or even a lot of my friends, because women just don't randomly go up to each other and say 'oh, you're looking like a 36DD today, am I right?'.
