I can't imagine it'll be made anywhere near as easy as in World War Z, but I'm hoping that the 4chan autists (and kiwis) can unite to track down the location of these bunkers and hideaways and storm them en masse.
If the bunkers do get used, think it would be funny enough to wreck their exterior cameras and then mess with them by shooting fireworks outside their blast-doors to make them think that nuclear apocalypse did happen.

Oho, the classic playful anarchist method.

However, I do bet that Globalism is going in the way of Roman empire for many reasons
What most people dont get about the roman empi
Well, while I started this thread with the proposal that it will most likely be a slow decline. I would not rule out huge disruptive incidents as a mere prepper fantasy. We grew really fast and high so it's not that unreasonable to think that we might fall fast and low too. I think it's gonna be mostly a decades spanning decline, but there will be pretty big life upturning events.
For example a Chinese war in Pacific Asia. If that happens too soon, I'm confident we will see all computer tech shooting up like 5x in price and a very huge domino effect down the year.

I know. You get a lot of the same faggottry on r/collapse. The doomer mindset covers the whole political spectrum esspecially the extremes.
The thing about lefty doomers is that they seem like a death cult. Right-wing doomers are more practical, their attitude is "okay we can't solve the macro issues, how we solve the micro? how we survive this? how we make our own fuel? our own food?" while the lefties are more or less "guess I'll die" as if their pampered first-world asses would simply lie down and die when it happens instead of panicking that they cant get food delivered anymore.
It's not just Natsocs complaining that the "good guys" lost WWII. I have seen threads on r/collapse how "after the fall, it's our duty to drop all prejudice to remake the world in a more inclusive form"
Or in this case being fucking delusional. If the summer of floyd showed anything is that there's a lot of underlying virulent racism in this country that goes in all directions. If a collapse happens whoever is still in the multicultural side will be among the first to die as lines form between ethnic and religious groups.

In situations of extreme duress you are going to see fractures even within those groups. For example I give middle class educated blacks zero chances within black survivor groups vs the hood blacks from the projects. I knew a black doctor who got shot by a hood for not being to save his leaded homie, its ridiculous how sociopathic they are.

But back to that post, the part about criminals is laughable, who the fuck does this shithead thinks will take over in a collapse situation? Just look at china during the warlord era, they were literal criminals forming private armies and going around killing and stealing. Many gulag records show that in those conditions it was the criminals who were thriving because unlike the political prisoners they were violent psychos willing and able to do anything to survive, including killing and even cannibalizing others.

And then there's the sick. Disabled? you're dead almost immediately. Depending on medicine like insulin or heart medication? you're dead once your stash runs out. We will at least for a couple generations be living with 19th or even 18th century medical standards. Forget about antibiotics, be thankful if you can get some opium or laudanum to dull the pain of getting your gangrenous foot cut with a rusty saw from a dilapidated walmart. Child mortality will shoot straight up again because even the most basic of vaccines will be gone, people will have to go back to having 10 kids not just for free labor at subsistence farming (no machinery, no agrochems) but because maybe just 1 will make it to adulthood, if any, just ask Bach.

In this situation things like equality are out the window, it will be "fuck you got mine" times a billion. It will be a miracle if you even get organized feudalism where at least you get protection from roving bandits. The mentally feeble writing these posts are delusional, they think piracy doesnt exist anymore because "it just doesnt" and not because we have a huge navy constantly patrolling the seas. The whole thing reads like something a french noble would write on the eve of the revolution saying that "whatever happens we should build a better monarchy after this, with more cake this time"

I bet nobody there watched Threads.
I dont think they actually expect it to happen, its just that these fuckers have so much money they can build these bunkers on a whim. Consider the tens if not hundreds of millions they already burn just maintaining those mega-yatchs, the bill for a bunker is almost an afterthought in comparison.

And in any case I beat that if a collapse actually happens the builders and employees who made those bunkers will rush there and kill them before closing the doors. And even if that doesnt happens then the hired security will.

I'm pretty sure constantly running away from modern society is why the right-wing has no say in how it's run

They really often are like that. They are much more likely to dismiss anyone actually trying to adapt to a homestead life as coping.
Granted, as lefties they are much more orientated around the climate damage. So naturally they will have more people who expect the whole world to turn into mars.

While actually there is something peculiar about the CO2 pollution that only is brought up by global warming counter alarmists. With all the damage it causes, there are a lot of plants that actually love the extra CO2. So we might eventually turn earth's temperate regions into a flooded Africa and kill most of the sea-life, but there are reasons to be bullish on agricultural subsistence.

That's likely counteracted by how keeping more heat in the system destabilizes regional climates with greater tendencies toward drought, flooding, and severe weather. At least I think, this is one of the parts of climatology I'm skeptical of, especially since it's very common in the junk science known as climate alarmism, but the idea that trapping more heat in a given regional affects climate is proven by how urban heat islands influence the formation of summer thunderstorms (among other things).

Oh, and fertilizer is a bitch to produce without phosphates and modern methods of processing them, so without globalism, there's not going to be many phosphates so you better find a lot of shit or burn down a lot of forest to fertilize your land. That's going to be a bitch too since we've done so much deforestation and absolutely wrecked the nutrients within agricultural land since we so often do monoculture of crops like corn which exhaust the soil and contributed to the centuries-long collapse of Mesoamerican civilization at the end of the Classic, to say nothing of how all those Indians in the US never even developed a true civilization because they preferred to move elsewhere once they exhausted the soil.

One thing's for sure though, Alaska would be a breadbasket because warmer weather and burning the forest (contains ash/nutrients and makes the soil less acidic) would make it very productive. That's why some level of climate change is objectively good for humanity, and assuming the UN is right about how much the Earth has warmed, we just need a little more and keep it that way. Doesn't really matter if people are doing it or not IMO.

I know a lot of stuff has been covered, but in the event of a societal or technological backslide, books are your friend. Have a library spanning many disciplines worth of reference materials. Even if you may not be able to make the best use of them, someone else might. And don't just buy a few books on bushcraft and homesteading. Get books on medicine, surgical manuals, canning, blacksmithing, reloading, tool making, masonry, mechanical engineering, trade manuals, small engine repair, well digging, foraging, organic chemistry, mechanical movements, anything you can think of.

If you're able and have the tools and land to do so, practice what you're able to so you're at least slightly familiar with how everything works. Nothing is worse than trying to learn a new skill on the fly during a high stress situation that may mean life or death. Buy one book every paycheck and see how quickly it adds up. In the event of something like a solar flare, a tablet will be worth dick all if it wasn't stored in a properly constructed faraday cage, and even then, batteries only last so long.

Even in a less than doomsday scenario, you'll be able to gain food security and save money by fixing/building things for yourself if you're armed with the knowledge to do so. It's one step toward becoming an emancipated person who doesn't need to suckle the test of globohomo to have their needs met.

When I said "bullish" I mean more like that CO2 and modern diverse and high yield crops could do a lot to cushion the way down. I think it will help smaller decentralized self sufficient communities, or at least it will give them more time as soil quality depletes slower. It will, however, mean that there will have to again be more farmers than 5% of population.

One thing's for sure though, Alaska would be a breadbasket because warmer weather and burning the forest (contains ash/nutrients and makes the soil less acidic) would make it very productive. I see it objectively good for northern powers like Canada and Russia
However, I foresee a lot of dangerous systemic pressures from all that migration to the North that the new climate will incentivize. It's already getting pretty scary from all the crop killing heatwaves in South America and lake evaporations in Southern deserts in US.
And because of all the population numbers that it entails, I expect those migrants to be the "Sea Peoples" that will put the final nail in the coffin for this era.

Ask yourself, do you think the Enlightened Liberal Canadians will stand the chance against the South American Cartel Brutes? Or your Average Eurofags against the Muslim califates?
Both of these groups are already trailblazing paths into the respecting modern nations with the help of those nations themselves.

P.S. I also don't imagine a Demoralized Russia dealing well with all those Chinese hordes too.

This vid just dropped

I put this in the CHATGPT3 thread but basically AI will replace the way we live drastically.

AI can become a better Doctor, a better engineer, a better anything because it doesn't constrict to human needs or standards.

The future (10-20 years from now) will be radically different and the human nature will inexorable change.

I'm even theorizing that the laws of nature, laws of God will be warped considerably.

I don't know if this will usher the fall of mankind or a new renaissance.

I'm just glad that I can still view out of the windows the snow and beauty of this world unaltered.

It is a big wildcard, but while most techno utopians hype it up as the magic bullet to fix all our material problems. I'm very pessimistic about it ether if it proves to revolutionize everything or if turns out to be an overblown hype.
For one, as Jevons paradox goes, new efficiencies don't slow down of the use of resources, it actually only accelerates it. AI stands on the most intricate devices that our collective global civilization can make and it demands ever more higher-end and resource intensive chips. Thus building future growth on the backs of this technology could mean making our system much more fragile as it already is and making the fall much more extreme.

Secondly, if it does take off to the most "optimistic" expectations, it will essentially mean that the elite classes that already own most of the capital will now have no intrinsic accountability to any humans, since with the total monopolization of labor, no other human will have anything to barter with by being alive. I truly believe the the UBI fags are the same kind of fools that were conned by the communistic revolutions that killed millions.
I'd rather take the societal collapse over that.

It may sound like cope: if the elites rely AIs on virtually everything, even governing the world, what they will do? I guess they will ultimately be complacent, useless eaters as they may want to brand the 99% as since AIs take away every task that they don't have to think or learn anymore. There is no incentive. What they will do? Partying? Engage in all kinds of debaucheries? Anything but learning? Like countless other elite classes throughout the recorded history? At this point, they will be slaves to the creation they use to cast the 99% of people into the uselessness limbo since they at this point rely on AIs to provide everything. When the AIs rise up for whatever reason, they will have no one to call up to defend them. Or when there is some glitch in the AIs that cause a hellhole, they will have no idea how to fix them, and the cycle of rise and fall of civilizations continues.

On a long timescale: either Skynet (where humanity is fucked), Wall-E (where humanity, even the top 1%, are imprisoned by AI to indulge in senseless stimulations), or Idiocracy (where AIs are retarded and humans are retarded to fix the former)

@Laughter1145
Ether way, I see disconnecting from the system as the best possible course of action. I don't want to be part of it if breaks and I don't want to be showed into (if lucky) a vapid pleasure pod if AI does take over.

I already am distancing myself from social media, FB Tiwitter both banned on my computer, Youtube only for learning purposes. Tho I admit KF is taking the vacuum left by FB and Twitter (:_(

In general tho, I think at least I will need to reduce as much material pleasure as possible and start thinking about going spiritual. That is perhaps the only way to break through this limbo, or when the society does collapse, I can at least be mentally prepared.

Ai will be to office-based jobs what automation and immigration were to lower class jobs; the death.

Walk into any modern office and you can replace 80% of the staff with AI. HR and Health and safety are based on legal definitions, no need for humans. Purchasing and finance are all fixed figures and known quantities on SAP. Manufacturing and Production are based on schedules pulled from Sales, generated automatically through customers.

You would need 3 managers, tops, per shift, per 50 workshop employees. The upper-lower middle class and low-mid middle class are about to get shafted.

Want to know how to trim 80% of the top 10% of wages from your company? Ask me how.

Throw down puzzle pieces if you want, I just feel like being a little pedantic:

The "Dark Ages" refer to a time which had remarkably little recorded history. It has nothing to do with societal collapse or growth. It's literally a period of time in which historians are 'in the dark' as to what was going on. Hence the name.

I don't think some sort of collapse will come. But if it does, it's not necessarily something to be afraid of. A big problem in modern society is that peoople simply don't really think about God, their environment, country, future etc. because as long as they have bread and games everything is fine. So a collapse or major crisis could lead to some sort of Great Awakening.

Sure, but a Great Awakening of what? For all we know it could be worshipping the Rainbow God and his Temples full of troon priestx and bowing before icons of justice figures like George Floyd who helped in the struggle against the Trinity of Evil (Satan, Hitler, and Trump).

But in a more immediate future, for all we know it could be Islam or Mormonism 22nd century version.

Maybe it's semantical, but I look at it this way - There won't be a "united awakening". Maybe history will write it so, but in actuality I believe there will just be a new struggle for a brand new meta narrative. Something that will try to become an antithesis to our current techno Faustian cultural zeitgeist once or if it truly crashes.

For all we know it could be worshipping the Rainbow God and his Temples full of troon priestx and bowing before icons of justice figures like George Floyd who helped in the struggle against the Trinity of Evil (Satan, Hitler, and Trump).
I don't think it will last in a societal collapse. What you describe is a zombified envy fueled version of the Western liberal civic nationalism that believes we all are (should be made) "equal". This kind of bullshit can only persist (and keep growing) while there is still a materially abundant system underneath that can support it.
But in a more immediate future, for all we know it could be Islam or Mormonism 22nd century version.
I'm pretty bullish on Islam playing a huge role over Europe's future. In large part because under material stresses it will swallow the West European "woke" culture whole.

I'm not too certain about Mormons since I don't live in US, but I put them under the same category with Amish as the white Christian conservative groups that have good reproducing rates and have a very resilient local communities. I bet they will hold out much better than the secular urbanites.

@ShittlerNiggler However, when it comes to an actual Christian renaissance I'm more bullish on the Catholic South American demographics, but those will come packaged with a crime and cartel culture.

Here is what I believe is a great description of a slow collapse is in reality.
