CJ is a retard but he isn't entirely wrong. Bumblb has always been a giant marketing plot to keep the audience engaged, they've teased and toyed with it for so long because they knew they had massive audience of fags who would watch anything so long as it had the potential to lead to more bumblebee.

It is funny to see the people who said RT deserved to die for writing 'nigger' on the whiteboard UwU and squee now that their fake girls have finally kissed.

So the Bees kissed. Now what?

Not entirely wrong?

On this he's entirely correct. It's an out of place side thing that was rushed up to prominence so the actors/company can show something "progressive" and "powerful" off.

I'd wager they did it now because they realize they aren't getting a V10 and this was the important plot point they wanted to canonize (not Ruby's parents, not anything lore related, etc).

Yeah, a lot of that really just doesn't fucking matter. Maybe if the writing was better and didn't rely so heavily on using characters as billboards, it would actually have any amount of impact.

You said the "V10 crowd" but that's literally just one person.

Pretty emblematic of the issue - no one cares about RWBY anymore. It's just too blatantly mediocre and lacks any real direction and their core audience has just moved on to other shows.

RoosterTeeth tried to hard to make it a "franchise" (merch, spin offs, the DC collab, licensed characters in BBTag, etc) but vastly overestimated it's staying power. 9 Seasons is a fucking lot for an anime - they all can't be Dragonball/Bleach/One Piece. Hunter x Hunter wrapped up in 6, My Hero Academia is likely to wrap in 7 - RWBY isn't even close to wrapping in 10, unless they do a "race to the finish" season like Game of Thrones did.

I know it's one but the GreenlightV10 hashtag has a decent amount of people.

What's there to lie about?

I've been under the assumption the issue was that RWBY as a show tried to be too big for its britches. And for whatever RWBY tried to do, the people involved never raised their game. And I think a lot of people who criticize DO watch or keep up.

Good for you. But I really doubt there's folks that share your view.

If that's the case, they're clearly too late. RT is going under and RWBY isn't that valuable of an IP for anyone to invest in it.

It was too big from the start. It was a bunch of trailers that showed a little promise and a world that pretty heavily borrows from fairy tales - probably not something that should have been turned into a full show without being workshopped properly.

It's a show that probably could have found some level of success - but RT just assumed that success was the only thing that could happen and didn't really plan anything else around it.

pen and didn't really plan anything else around it.
At that point, it may be just how the industry works. I posted a tweet about how someone pointed V10 could be announced at RTX for the most buzz, or they do the MCU “Team RWBY will return in V10” thing after a stinger, but I feel that if we were to know about RWBY’s future, we’d have heard about it by now.

I mean, they announced that V9 will be on Chrunchyroll because of how big RWBY had become, so there’s always the chance that we hear about the future after these next three episodes.

The story of the old days has been said so many times by this point that all I can really say without becoming a broken record and the thread going in circles is that after the Red trailer, RT knew they had their next hit of an IP and was ready to ride it to the moon. And then we know what happened in 2015.

If RWBY were actually bigger (it isn't) - they wouldn't be looking to bring someone else in on the action. If a company is making "too much money" they don't look to find another company to share it with.

The move to Crunchyroll is an audition for RWBY, basically trying to see if they'd be willing to carry the series after RoosterTeeth dies and there's no possible way that it could possibly be profitable for Crunchyroll to do so, because it's not currently profitable for RoosterTeeth to do so - and RT has all of the advantages it can possibly have. It's a very clear hail mary that Crunchyroll very likely is not ever going to pick up in any way.

I don't even think of Monty were alive the show would have been drastically different. He and RoosterTeeth both were in way over their head - it's not a product that you could justify paying huge salaries for without an actual business model for it - which they never seemed to have.

They both wanted it to be so much bigger than they possibly could have ever realistically managed.

The only way the show would change if Monty were alive is the fight scenes, and maybe more Monty surprise scenes (like how the other writers didn't know Penny was gonna be included in volume one because Monty added her in without their knowledge). Monty was never the story guy, for him the show was mostly just an excuse for fight scenes and cool visuals, he came up with a lot of concepts, but left it to Miles and Co to iron out how they connected.
