Its kind of intriguing watching where a lot of the feminists and SJWs of the early/mid 2010s have wound up. I think its prophetic in a sense for where we will see the woke zoomers of today end up in the 2030s.
When they are young and hot, they could say pretty much anything. Constant attention seeking on social media that few are willing to criticize, and those that did where drowned out by a sea of simps and yas queens creating an unbelievable echo chamber. At some point, this attention got to their head, by the time they start talking about serious topics they are already caught in these feedback loops. This lead to increasingly bizarre and radicalized positions being quasi mainstream. "Believe all women", anything appealing to men is bad, etc.
With age, the constant attention begins to wane and they mellow out. By this time, they have dwindled in relevance and no one is really listening to them anymore outside of a few loyalists that grew up watching them. The hot button issues they tied to their identity in their prime have now blown out of the limelight with time and are replaced by new issues. Even if they have completely changed as a person and reassessed their suppositions, the majority of people will only remember them for the crazy shit they where spewing out in their day.
Its kind of bittersweet in a way. A lot of these stories are those of people reaching maturity. Realizing that they can still hold their ideals and convictions while maturing in them in a way that's more compatible with the world. The 2014 feminist screaming "Believe all women" has interesting parallels to the 2016 ancap against any regulation of big business whatsoever. Today, for the most part, both of these groups have mellowed out immensely in their views while still retaining their values to protect women or prioritize liberty.
Furthermore, its almost a little bit sad to see how culture's values have shifted in the past ten years. As deranged as what a lot of Laci's viewpoints where, everyone could agree back then that rape was a horrific crime. That women, on some level, where inherently vulnerable and needed their own spaces to be protected. Now, with the whole LGBTQBBQ movement, people are actively throwing women's saftey to the wind to appease men, and we are seeing creeps legally protected by law going into women's changing areas, bathrooms, prisons, etc.
Really makes you think where a lot of THIS generation's Laci Greens will end up in ten years. We're getting old, boys.
