You know, we have a very negative image of Hayden not only because all we see of him is his online persona- i.e. arrogant, belligerent, unfunny and tasteless- but also because we've been doing a fair bit of digging on him.
And when you take a look at his career, there's some pretty sketchy shit coming up. For one thing, he keeps starting companies that then get suspended by the Franchise Tax board for, well, not paying taxes. When he started the Gen Zed production company, he used someone else's name, presumably because his previous two ventures(in hiw own name) got suspended.
Another thing is that it's not the first time he asks people to work for deferred pay on shows that either see very few episodes or never see the light of day. He talks big about networks, contracts, what-have-you, gets people to do the work for him, then the show never amounts to anything but a few youtube videos, if that.
One such example is the Cabonauts from 2009. He got some pretty big names to work on it, boasted about how deferred pay was such a good business model because he was going to turn the show into this big hit in collaboration with Dailymotion. And then nothing at all was filmed beyond the pilot. Some people even called him out on this- all back in '09, mind you.
And he's been known to use sock accounts to give himself glowing reviews (and even a wiki article!), try and get his friends to shout down his critics, buying fake followers and using alt accounts to bolster his own image on social media, putting out merch for shows that don't exist...
Not to mention the fact that his "humour" is often incredibly offensive even though he touts himself out as a progressive, which makes him look like a giant hypocritical opportunist.
His show is blatantly attempting to pander to a certain audience, and yet he has no idea at all how to please said audience. It's obvious he thought the LGBT crowd would be easy money. His attempts at making quick cash out of low-effort pandering are so half-arsed and obvious it's funny.
Put all this together and you have global picture of a complete failure of a comedian who comes accross as a cynical, money-grubbing arsehole. So you see, it's not really his politics- more like the fact that he is both criminally unfunny and cripplingly incompetent, and shouts it out to the heavens.
On a side note-
@JulieRei ,If you think Gen Zed gets attacked because of its politics, how do you explain that people on Tumblr- I.E part of the audience the show was trying to cater to- completely rejected and mocked it?
Take a look at the tag and you'll see criticisms are coming from all sides, not just from transphobes or reactionaries.
