i've been listening to the vocaroo posted, part 4 of The Pest, and i'm 17 minutes in.

all patrick & niki have done is throw out accusation after accusation, in trembling tones. if they are so sure of what they accuse Dan of (abusing Niki through her job, threatening to rape her and all this other horseshit) then surely she can provide evidence to what she explicitly states she has confirmed - that it is him doing it.

I think it’s a weird thing that people throw responsibility at Josh and Quasi for everything posters say. ONA forums foster prank calls and signing Pat up for surveys, but they agree with people here that the swatting isn’t really funny and a waste of resources.
Neither forums give blanket support for fucking with Pat. Kiwifarms is observe and report (to ourselves) and ONA is teenage prank calls.

I don’t really think it’s weird for people to laugh at Fatrick and want the body cam footage of him screaming about niggeroni. Pat is histrionic and pissed off as many people as he could by trying to hold them legally accountable for shitposts.
It doesn’t make the swattings right, but Pat is a pumpkin headed idiot who seems to lack the ability to calmly talk to people. I feel like people really ignore that Pat initially escalated shit and probably caused himself problrms when he tried to dox and sue people.

this is the double standard that people have with kiwi farms and it pisses me off so much. they blame the site and null for things which a single user does, or no user does but they claim we do. yet not a single one of them does this with any other website. reddit is not considered responsible when a user or groups of user does something. facebook is never blamed, twitter, twitch, youtube, tiktok, etc. all of these sites have tons of users, plenty of whom harass others, dox, prank, and even assault people. yet nobody says those sites are evil and need to be shut down. zucc doesnt have a problem getting a bank account. yet null isnt allowed one.

even 4chan isnt held to blame like we are. 4chan users are documented without a doubt to have done far worse things than any kiwi ever has done, but they neither get the level of hate nor the trouble hosting that the farms gets.

it's a glaring and horrible double standard which makes me sick.
 
Jesus christ. Like 20 minutes in and Fatrick is the most unlikeable character in this entire thing. Dan comes off with explanation of the story of Fatrick, Quasi gives back up evidence to everything he says, and Nikki and Fat just start throwing off accusations like their word is the truth. They are so fucking unsympathetic that it gives off the impression they are projecting themselves onto others. Like ffs, how do you come off as more retarded than Dan?

It has nothing to do with Quasi, unless he's claiming Quasi's counsel somehow was obligated to give him legal advice because he's too fat to understand anything or read the order which I am pretty sure informed him of his right to appeal.

Dan mentioned that Fatrick is very smug and the entire interview on the other side with Nikki and Fat is just proving it. Just completely ruins the entire story on Fatrick's side. Guaranteed he saw that past tense tell in another book or TV show. Undoubtedly something old, because it's barely used anymore for being so obvious. Pat thinks it's so clever he couldn't wait to put it in the first chance he got, to show off how smart his protagonist is in his very first conversation with one of the obvious villains. He didn't absorb nearly anything else, but he remembered that one.

Also I'm pretty certain that you don't need to know any Pat lore to get these vibes from the book. But it brings out the flavour when you know the details behind the incredibly mediocre product. It's pretty much what I expected - blandly below-average rather than the aggressive shittiness of a Chuck Wendig, but with constant small irritations and mistakes. Alone, they would be fine, but just keep building up into a bumbling mess of worthlessness.

@Boston Brand - how was the rest of the con? Talk to any of the other panelists on with Pat, or see him with his empty signing line? Any other lolcow or potential lolcow interactions? I noticed a Cat Rambo cancelation, for example.

Slightly off topic but I've seen shit on Facebook that's easily as insane as some of the worst shit I've read in A&H, in fact it might be more so considering that the Facebook posters in question have to exert hilarious effort and jump through silly hoops (N trees, basketball emojis, etc) to say the same shit

It really truly is the most retarded double standard imaginable and I think if I was Null I'd just be screaming about this nonstop, its so obvious that people acknowledge this but its ideologically convenient to never say it ever, and it results in shit like Fat and his wife being the most god damn hypocritical tards imaginable

I'm sure they told him he could appeal but they weren't going to be part of it. Too much risk to them to appeal a case that just got that buttblasted. Rick thinks he'd be appealing the attorneys fees not his stupid attempt to ignore the law so he could sue in the first place. He'd have been lucky if the appeal just got denied immediately rather than adding to his fees.

He absolutely still thinks he had a winning case, and is on the brink of turning it around, if just somebody, anybody, as smart as Pat yet in power would listen to him. Unfortunately everyone he talks to reveals themselves to be atalkers who will eventually be enjoying prison.
 
Man, with Pat's contempt hearing and Cyrax's assault trial within a week of each other, I'm going to have to invest in some kind of racing harness to stop my sides from entering orbit and never being seen again.
