Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
For now, it's hard to do because I'm frustrated by the timelines too, but all I can do is say, "Stay tuned. it's upward from here and we're really excited."
This blame-shifting faggot.

I love that all these crisis communications clowns all have them put this bullshit in which is the approximate value of a shrug.

"Well, uhh... we suck but we're SO EXCITED."

Fuck off, faggot. As if anyone should give a shit about what emotion you're experiencing after blowing through everyone's trust and goodwill. The only thing you should be doing is begging for forgiveness for being an incompetent piece of shit.

Saw this on linus' twitter while looking for a response. Does he really need that many employees to make these stupid youtube videos? Its no wonder there are so many problems.

Of course he doesn't; one of the first things I'd cut is all their design people. Unless you're Ralph Lauren or some actual apparel company, you don't need permanent design staff or all the toys they require (like the Pantone Books/Chips). Those can be a semi-gig economy type job; go to Fiver or wherever, find someone(s) you like, come up with your annual/holiday designs or whatever and have them work per project. This can be your shirts, hoodies, jackets, socks, water bottles, stickers, etc. Try to keep a good working relationship with them, and try to be a repeat customer as long as they do good work. You'll pay a fraction of the $60k-$80k a year per employee you pay by having permanent staff.

Part of me gets what he's trying to do with his LTT Labs shit, but at the same time, I'm not sure what he's trying to do. He wants to be an official test lab with stuff, that's cool... I wouldn't know where or how to start, but you're not ANSI, NIST, or ISO, and I doubt you have the people or finances to break into that field. So what the fuck are you trying to do by hiring all those people and buying all those fancy toys? Oh and by the way, since it's very current and relevant; not wanting to do proper tests over a few hundred dollars is not how a true and honest 100% test organization would run.

So much narcissism in that Linus forum post response I'd bet on him transitioning to a Stunning & Brave Trans Woman if his wife wasn't there to quash it. Crack his egg anyway Anthony.

Rolled my eyes when I saw the GN video because "drama" and Steve alluded to people having that reaction. But It was a good video and the waterblock thing is inexcusable
.

Has the new CEO of LTT actually done anything? I feel like drastic action (probably layoffs) is the only way LTT won’t imminently crash and burn (I hope it does), and I imagine Linus didn’t want to do it himself- he’s probably going to clean his hands of the whole thing and go hide in that mansion of his.
Hard to say, but I said it before when he was first announced as the new CEO. Even though he's the CEO, Linus and Yvonne are still the owners; let's not pretend the CEO wants/needs to make a hard decision, but Linus puts his finger on the scale as the owner.

one of the two non-deleted comments in that thread before locking, hmmm, who knows what is true.

The oldest three videos on the channel all have voiceover with a British accent:

The newest video's voiceover has a Canadian accent.

The oldest video available was uploaded just over one week after the channel was created:

The first video with the new voice was uploaded only 23 days after that video:

Maybe the channel was started by some friends and one of them dropped out?

I don't have a pro Social Blade account so I can't check the subscriber history.

The most shocking revelation from this video is that LMG has access to a 'drop-in place' video editing system that, as far as I'm aware, has only been a rumor. There have been claims that big dinosaur media agencies have been completely replacing very old videos that made current major politicians look bad, but I thought that was probably a bridge too because it would involve YouTube directly. Now that I know the big channels actually have this feature to use on their own, I believe it.

Looking at the comments around the internet on the GN video, I think Linus has finally overextended himself to exhaustion. Typically, whenever somebody criticizes his bullshit, you'd get a tide of LTT dicksuckers flooding in. Of course, I've seen a few of those, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how overwhelming the response has been in opposition to LTT.
LTT was never great, but at least at one point it was a serviceable starting point for somebody who wanted to get into PC building and consumer electronics. However, because Linus is a greedy fuck, it's pretty much a miracle to get anything more than a brief mention of any hardware that is below enthusiast grade, and certainly not anything in a reasonable price range. I've gotten tired of seeing one of his hundreds of channels get recommended to me, because I know that if it isn't watching two ads (one for LTT store, another longer ad for the product) it's going to be LTT shilling with what could only be considered disinformation in the best case.
The only thing this guy ever had was some semblance of a personality that could be played off as "quirky faggot marketer", but it turns out that decays quickly when you turn your whole company into a retarded content mill. Hopefully, this will be a day of reckoning for LTT.

Thread on the LTT forum

The winds are not blowing in Linus' favor.
He's definitely catching shit on his own forum but can we appreciate how many of his goblins are still running defense? There are people in there calling Steve "sensationalist" and trying to project LTT issues onto GN. Linus' company FUCKED a startup on a false premise, doubled down on it, then AUCTIONED OFF property of that startup without permission. If GN did anything close to that Steve would issue a public video apology and do whatever it took to make things right; LTT goblins- stop worshiping your retarded soy tech idol for a minute and acknowledge that he fucked up.

You don't even need to be a big name. My channel is under 5,000 and I have access to the built-in editor. So unless I got blessed (for some weird fucking reason), it's a tool most people (maybe you need adsense) should have.

We talk constantly about how we intend to move forward and make better content. It's just taking longer than any of us would like.
God I fucking hate management speak. The biggest problems in companies are never fixed because management never wants to pull the trigger and just implement fixes. They'll too worried about covering their own asses.

It would take a week, tops to iron out the needed changes and implement them. They control their own deadlines and Linus can implement any changes he wants. The biggest issues are just that they need to pump the brakes on content output and do some fucking fact checking.

Yeah that's not what they are talking about. GN was talking about the ability to replace the entire video with a new one without changing the URL or anything else, such as upload date. You could upload a video and then later replace it with a completely different video.

No, the editor is completely different. This is a way to completely re-upload the video with the same URL.

Can 100% confirm. I use TubeArchivist for my personal YT archive and I have the exact videos GN is talking about. They were replaced. From skipping through them, they were not just trimmed, but entire sections were added/removed/moved around, edits were made, etc

It's not just that. Entirely new sections were added, and edits were made to the actual video, like that disk slipping effect here: https://youtu.be/THxkY59_xko?t=203

The errors seen in half of the LTT videos seen are just so beyond sloppy. You can really tell not only are upper management pushing ridiculously hard to put out content, but there's absolutely no process to check over everything prior to release. No proof reading, no retakes, no final previews, nothing. Some of the incorrect data put into part reviews, particularly GPUs, can be corrected by simply looking at the back of the box these parts came in, and like GN said, you cut out the stuff that's incorrect if you really don't have time for a retake.

On top of this, the auctioning of that prototype part from Billet Labs is just gross. "Miscommunication" isn't an excuse LTT can ride on no matter how much they try, it's not that hard to read a sentence stating "don't sell our shit, we want it back."
