Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Probably but Linus Tech Tips on the other hand is for entertainment. Or is it not? The few times I try watching any of his content it's bogged down with annoying editing & "bloopers" like jumping on a bed until it breaks.
LTT was decent edutainment for a long time but it's just been like an eighth of a step above being one of those content mill websites that generates twenty terrible articles a day for several years at this point. If you go back to before they bought the warehouse and were just operating out of the house there's some decent information and legitimately fun projects to be had, though obviously it's all massively dated at this point

I don't know anything about video cards (last time I paid attention to them they used the ISA bus) but how fucking hard is to just cut and paste specs off the data sheet? Like how do you fuck up basic info like memory size and port types?

And I feel really bad for that startup heat sink company. They get their product shit on by a 10M sub review channel even though LTT was misusing it then they get their prototype stolen and sold by the same channel. And they can't even speak out about it because they know the crazy fanboys will just hate review anything they come out with in the future. So they have to just take it.

Is Linus… Jewish?

I wonder how many consumer electric ovens could do six million in five years without defying physics and time?

I do find it interesting that the situation with the cooling block, the situation with the quadfather build, and even the unboxing vid on an old cooler were all fucked up IDENTICALLY.

1 Owner shipped the hardware with documentation on do's and don't's, including how to get the most out of the hardware.

2 Someone at LMG shreds the notes, and passes the hardware to linus blind.

3 Linus fucks up severely, infuriating the lender.

The only difference is he didn't auction the water cooler or AMD system.

This information is harder to find than you think (especially since google is now shit) plus compatibility requires actual technical know-how if you aren't just blindly following Logical Increments or PCbuilder. Have you ever tried to parse the blatant lies on Amazon just to buy the right phone charging cable? Imagine that but it's even more annoying.

You should provide us with the original
There's nothing interesting to see, they removed some stats, changed things & added corrections so the video isn't as bad. If you or someone really wants it for w/e reason I can definitely upload it here.
I'd recommend people setting up their own tubearchivist, amazing little piece of software, though the code is an unorganized mess: https://github.com/tubearchivist/tubearchivist

The stuff regarding Billet Labs is legit lawsuit territory. Like there are actual damages there even beyond the swiped prototype. It is a shame they accepted a repayment for it after the fact because it throws cold water on any cause of action, but this is why people really should make use of those free consultations you see commercials about if you feel wronged, at least just to see.
Linus admitted in his forum post that they haven't sent the payment yet.

Do people here actually believe this happened?

Tbh for me it doesn't sound extremely believable. Even if it happened - Linus and LTT (and their fans) are not responsible.

If you are doing it for the meme, just go ahead
The suicide? Not at all. The way he acted on the video at the auction was enough to hate the guy. His type always piss and cum and shit when certain people get bullied, but they do so much worse.

I really like the extra hint of "Go fuck yourself" when Linus not only locked the thread, but added in his response: "Even though he won the auction fair and square, he offered to sell the play button to me for what he paid"

Yes, that's what you say to a grieving father, you soulless insect.

Linus continues to act like it's not his fault that his fans are shit. Funny how feces attracts flies, isn't it? I don't think I can bring myself to see how he conducts himself in that video of the NCIX auction.

Regarding Billet, I now understand the general idea - a small company gave him a prototype which he misused because he didn't care enough to spend extra money to use it correctly, gave the company bad publicity for it ("nobody should buy it"), and then sold it at auction without first consulting the company who gave it to him for a review which he deliberately fucked up because he's lazy and cheap.

Not only does he not give a shit about his viewers, he doesn't give a shit about the companies who give him things to review - the entire basis behind his viewership, because no one gives a blue fuck about garbage like Channel Super Fun. He is like a Praying Mantis - I just can't decide if he's a male or female one.

I'll finish by echoing the sentiments of others in this thread - Luke, you're too good for this shit. Flee the sinking ship, man. You can see from his uneasiness around Linus in those podcasts that he doesn't want to be there - Luke is giving Linus sidelong glances too often to be comfortable there.

Jewtube hotlink I know but I wish for the kiwis to look at the comments of this video, it seems Linus (again) has fucked up. This time his audio tests are using graphing methods that Audio engineers find lacking check the comments for some gems.

Linus actually made a video about it.
Ah, it looks like he did. I think towards the start of it, Linus made some kind of generic comment about how he felt like the journalist was getting bullied (completely ignoring that the guy was acting like a total asshole and refusing to own up to his mistakes) and said he wouldn't cover it. I guess he ended up doing that or I misremembered what he actually said on the topic. The Verge guy absolutely deserves to get dragged for the video itself, doubly so after reacting with accusations of racism and all kinds of bluster in response to what was fairly tame criticism to a very poorly made video.

I guess I’m the only one who can’t stand LinusTechTips? I find the channel and their constant “look at us we’re journalists and super thorough” super cringe. You’re shilling computer parts.
Fixed that for you. Gamers Nexus literally has a revolving door of companies who regularly blacklist them because of the shit they throw in reviews when the companies act retarded. They're not shilling anything but the best products as determined mathematically after an ungodly and autistic amount of testing. I can forgive you for not watching every single review of theirs but even a cursory viewing will show you how seriously they take things. They don't go "look at us we're journalists and super thorough", they simply do real thorough journalism like covering the NZXT H1 disaster by extensively testing the PCIE extension cable, which was a fire hazard. NZXT refused to acknowledge the severity of this issue for like an entire month, instead sending nylon screws to replace metal ones when the issue was that the cable itself was poorly made, had no short to ground, and was catching on fire. Gamers Nexus is literally invaluable in the current era of retarded dipshits like Linus Fag Nips and the never ending stream of trannypilled faggot """journalists""" who "work" for mainstream media outlets.

It is hard - if you don't know what you're looking for. Every manufacturer list their stuff's specs on their own site. Instead of going to google, the writers could go to amd.com or other manufacturer sites and look for the specs sheets there.
However, this brings up another issue: why need writers for hardware reviews in the first place? It should be cut and dry numbers, you don't need to be quirky about it. Second point: why aren't the ones in the "know-how" just lending specs sheets or CPU-Z/GPU-Z data to the writers to use? Why is this left up to the writers to find if they aren't into PC hardware to some degree (and let's face it, finding someone who can properly write and is into PC hardware enough to know they're not right is hard or probably already has their own youtube channel). Final point: scripts don't help idiots. In the GN example vid, Jake looked at the ports and called them out wrongly. Can't re-record the mistake, we got 10 videos to make!
All of this comes back the absolutely idiotic obsession of running a tech channel as a "media company" with a 100 employees (GN has 6) and Linus' obsession with having his hand in every pie and being a "professional" like buying a 40k dollar RED camera. For a tech channel!!!

Or the exploding PSU fiasco. They bought a bunch retail and bought more off of viewers then tested the shit out of them. Including an unedited single take test where one blew up to fight the "ZOMG EDITED FOOTAGE!" crowd.
Or the Asus frying 7000-series CPU's fiasco. Where they again spent thousands buying off the shelf components and also buying blown up shit from those who had their shit blow up.
They're one of, if not THE most ethical Tech outlet out there.
I've ran into a couple of idiots that think GN is a Nvidia/Intel shill (namely the head mod of boomerfist's shitty discord). But they were just such an AMD fanboi that they couldn't fathom Nvidia or Intel just flat out having a better product at that juncture in time. And that's what GN does, they cover everything and just point out what is better than the other, the brands be damned.

I went to watch it again and now that I'm a bit less MATI about the Billet Labs Affair, I'm now super triggered by the mouse feet thing.

Did it not occur to that cuck faggot that if a premium mouse had some kind of obvious friction, then maybe there's something in the way, like protective film? I know other companies like Zowie (at least the white box ones) have film under their mouse.

"I'm a PROFESSIONAL gaming equipment reviewer, so if I can't notice it, NO ONE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111" Literally a job that requires no real qualifications and with a market that has such an autistic market, the products are forced to be almost always good enough and any variations in experience is down to personal preference.

Only real problem is durabilty for some brands. Like seriously, learn2play and gitgud.

From my experience, video/film guys are more gear headed than photo guys, so I guess when they saw they had a boss susceptible to spec whoring, that was their chance to get their hands on a RED.

Of course, a true cinematographer only shoots on ARRI and everyone knows that lol.

A number of photographers are pervs and would rather spend extra money on a sexier model and charge money to horny men to hold an "open shoot." Or just be one of those photographers whose entire portfolio consists of naked women.
