This lawsuit should be a wakeup call for how far Dick has fallen. Even if someone is clearly in the wrong, if people like them enough they will rally around the perpetrator. The lolsuit saw universal support and money being brought in to the Dick empire, this will just bring people coming in to stare wide-eyed at the lolcows as they cheer for entertainment.

Eric has only talked about the possible lawsuit with the church in vague terms, so his lawyers may be working it out behind closed doors and doing exactly as you suggest.

You think a ministry is going to pursue this once they realize they've been played by a pedo? Worst case is they work something out so the character name gets changed in some weird story arc in the next book and all the existing ones become collectors items. It's NOT a "possible lawsuit." It's an actual lawsuit. Good Shepherd Ministries International has straight up sued Eric July for Trademark Infringement and Unfair Competition in the Central District of California. It's real. They cite the "journalists letter" as example of consumer confusion.

I think it would be to everybody's benefit if there was some sort of alternative resolution to the trademark thing outside of a trial. It's kinda stupid. Yes, the ministry owns a trademark to ISOM, but nobody fucking confused Rippa's comic with them. It took Vito pulling some bullshit, under the guise of a fake journalist, to plant that idea in the head of the ministry.

I’m assuming the idea was to troll Eric into having to spend money on a lawsuit/lose his comic, built if it was Vito’s idea or whatever…man, Vito’s retarded.
