Yeah but if July's business isn't actually tortiously interfered with in any measurable way (no legal costs, no interruption of production schedule), what damages is he going to sue Vito and Dick for? I assumed he hadn't mentioned the letter because they asked for them to be discreet, dick and vito brought up the lawsuit before Eric did if I don't have the timeline mixed up, so him commenting on the lawsuit but not aimed at the other party, instead at dick and vito, seems to fit in nicely to him still being discreet about the situation while commenting on the public controversy

I think the problem is that he recorded the video about being sued and the statement from the ISOM CEO implies twice that Eric July has ignored them:

"if Mr. July communicates with us"
"which we hope to discuss if he calls us as we requested in our letter"

One thing I have to give Berin Gilfillan credit for is his mention of the "journalist" in their statement. Together with mention of the fact the e-mail was received by their IP attorney. An IP attorney is going to be looking to see whether one work could be confused by the public for another, and that e-mail was clearly crafted to set off alarm bells to an IP attorney. I think that was a nice touch calculated to soothe Rippa's ego. It's as if they saying "Look, we might both be a victim of a gay op here... let's talk."

I recall on one episode of The Dick Show where Dick blithely discussed a moneymaking scheme he hatched in the early 2000s which involved digital rips of one of the Star Wars prequels. My recollection is a bit fuzzy, but he explained the scheme involved having participants complete a survey and then somehow send money. He would then exchange an intentionally unplayable file, so the participants were out of their money. Dick rationalized this as stating that no copyright infringement took place, but seeing that Lucasfilms didn't exactly appreciate the prospect of someone online potentially stealing from them, they quickly sent out a cease and desist notice. I can't remember the episode, but Dick claimed to have netted at least six figures. Even if he made that all up for content on his show, it reveals that all causes he champions are for personal enrichment. He has no integrity and sees his audience as marks.

Maddox has since become a Twitter creature. He stopped producing videos entirely since January of 2022 (over a year a half ago) and has effectively dried up and blew away. God only knows what he's doing now, but I suspect he had to find an actual job somewhere else.

Kinda sad, really. The Biggest Problem in the Universe was a fun podcast, but it all ended no thanks to their massively bloated egos.

I don't follow Vito and know nothing about him aside from being a pedo apologist. He looks greasy and unfunny.

Taking something to trial costs $75,000 and if July sues them as individuals then I'm pretty sure they will need separate attorneys due to a conflict of interest.
