Kayla's physical appearance is largely irrelevant save for context clues of her self-perception (and occasional teasing). Kayla's character and conduct are what interest me the most. Kayla may have limited her online presence, but it is doubtful that anything else has changed. Kayla is likely the same person, just more MATI these days.

I find it very interesting that Nick says not swearing in an act. I swear a lot but I do not around family, kids or strangers without putting any effort what so ever and I do not consider it an 'act'.
But Nick admitting a small lie to hide the bigger lie (everything up until his post depp outburst is a lie) is a very Nick move, I think. Anyone disagree?
Nick considers it an act because it was work. Had the opposite problem when I was growing up. Other kids would pull my hair and such to get try and get me to swear, though I never did. The school bullies were the ones who made them stop, which was nice of them. To this day swearing just doesn't come naturally to me so I use it when quoting someone in writing (otherwise it just doesn't sound right).
Nick's message pairs nicely with Nick's "I am me" and "I don't pander" rant in making him look like a profoundly disingenuous person.

This just confirms that Nick has crafted his self-image from the collection of alternative universes in his head. He did this with PC. He's done this with most anyone who form "alternative perceptions" of him that don't agree with this self-image.
His ego can't cope with the pain of rejection and relationship volatility, so the source of the criticism must be publicly maimed so that they seem feeble and harmless. All very common behavior for a grandiose narcissist.
This is why the people he surrounds himself tend to be more malleable. (Sorry, even you Kurt) As soon as they're no longer malleable to him and they grow a spine, the passive aggressiveness, which functions as a coping mechanism for internalized narcissistic rage, begins to emerge and this is just how it starts. It's typical for narcissists to "toy" with non-malleable people hoping to get under their skin so that they can effect their sense of self and emotional ease when in their presence. It's not so much about intimidation as it is a covert method of control.
However despite Nick being a social media genius, I'm afraid even he made some errors: Firstly, he admits the goal of the conversation outright with his tweet re:Null as a "robot". By saying he was attempting to effect his understanding of surroundings and "social cues", he has generously offered us the unintentional admission that he was deliberatelyattempting to fuck with his sense of self. Imagine being that upset over the internet that one even needs to make shower buddies with potential frenemies.
He did this "Are you friend or foe" nonsense with PC and spent way too much time trying to assess their pushback and gaslight them. It was exposed and thankfully the effects of that didn't stick. Had it not been shared publicly, PC likely would've had to go through great lengths to reexplain anything. Unbeknownst to our Social Media Expert, his silent rage both in DMs with PC and actions after have built pyramids to buttress the evidence already out there and have further solidified PC's stance on his emotional retardation when receiving feedback as meer fact.

It's worth noting the one thing going for Twitter/X is it's the ideal tool for the master Narcissist to engage in social mirroring and persuasion techniques. How easy is it to get into the comments and detract, distract, dissemble until the public's view shifts towards a narrative that is more palatable to the eyes. Obviously the conversation with Null was ineffective enough for him to act out pathologically on social. But this is what Twitter is good for.
It also shows us that Twitter is his outlet when he's dealing with loss of control over other's perceptions. The amount of time he spends there in comments might be directly correlated to uncomfortable feelings around his online identity. With a few keystrokes, one can rewrite narratives and create a small army of sycophants willing to repeat and regurgitate whatever pathological nonsense one wants doused across the interwebs. Even if it's not effective in the longterm, it's very effective for dealing with cognitive dissonance in the shortterm when one can watch the effects of their creative delusions making ways to soothe the masses. It restores a sense of confidence over their ability to perpetuate the desired image.

The woman I was with before I met my wife was a BPD Narcissist. If she was ever put on the defensive in any fight or argument it's guaranteed that it would last hours.
