Internet Historian Appreciation Thread - The best thing to come out of Austrailia since Mad Max (The original, obviously)

Does anyone have a backup of IH HWINDU season 2 and 5? That one seems to be actively getting scrubbed off or something
According to this Reddit thread, they may have never actually existed. This does appear to be the case, as in this """reaction""" video made 6 years ago by two pieces of dry bread, they mention that they couldn't actually find a Season 2 video by IH and instead resort to a fan-made video. Even if Season 2 was only up briefly, we should be able to find at least one person claiming to have seen it but I'm not seeing any such claims.

This thread also came to the same consensus.

In other news: KiwiFarms.net back on Google search results?

I see, i always think it exists because in season 6 (I think) there's a montage of supposed season 2 where a guy holding a gun. Thanks for the info

IIRC, the season 2 of HWNDU didn't have anything major happen apart from someone throwing milk at the sign & some guy flashing a gun for a second in front of the camera a while after a shootout happened nearby, all the minor autisms were fun, but nothing in neither quantity & nor quality when compared to Season 1 or even Season 3 & 4 later. It barely even has videos of the event itself anyway.

Season 5 was just a few people fucking with Shia in front a screen, in a cabin, inside a building, tho it did make national news again like Season 1 did, but only once.

So basically, Internet Historian just didn't find it as interesting to make a video about. Meanwhile, Season 6 was so uninteresting that it deserved a video.

I always got the impression there was a season 2 vid, but it was taken down because of the gun. However it does seem more likely that he just never made the video since 3 starts with him skipping 2 like a cutscene.
I'm pretty sure the clips in the S3 video are from S1 in New York anyway.

The videos don't exist. The seasons are not named by IH but by the anons in the threads originally and he chose not to cover II and V because they're dull. There was, however, II and V coverage videos made by those other than IH.

Something I just found that most might not know about.

As some of you might remember that 9GAG once made a normie monument of memes once, the memerock, which felt more like a grave than a monument. Which led to 4chan starting #SmashTheStone movement, which IH made a video on.

Why does this matter? Well, apparently 2 years ago from now, someone actually did make an attempt to smash the stone, & while his effort won't do much due much, we have a 100% true meme patriot who at least tried to do his part.

There doesn't seem to be another place to sperg about it so I'll sperg about it here, because I'm a little upset over it.

YouTube recommended me this video and I was a bit skeptical but I gave it a watch:
Realized it was the Internet Historian guy and found the video rather interesting and not overtly political and preachy, so I watched some more of that guy's content. And while he does make some good points in many of them, I ended up opening this one.
And it seems that my skepticism was right. He is a Br*tish faggot who thinks he's qualified to give his political takes in his videos and that people want to hear them.
-On the trucker protest bit he showed the Nazi flag gayop without showing the photos where the flag is very clearly freshly unpacked to mock Trudeau
-On every bit about Ukraine he gives the typical one-sided mainstream media schlop like Russian conscripts getting rusted guns which is just to keep up morale so people won't pay attention that they're also using really good hardware and casualties are about the same on both sides and that all of it is pointless bloodshed
-On the bit about the Netherlands protests he essentially mocked the farmers and said that to stop greenhouse emissions the European poor will have to pay, and not oh I don't know, China or India which cause the most greenhouse gas emissions
-When mocking Jordan Petersen he referred to Ellen Page as Elliot Page
-He sided with the Just Stop Oil clowns mocking people who say that those protests won't do shit
-He actually mentioned Chris' incest arrest and showed Ralph's clip of it, and referred to him as Christine

So yeah, as always Br*tish YouTubers turn out to be gigantic faggots. And it's a shame because if he didn't have the urge to politisperg his content is very nice and informative.

I really hate how every time there is a YouTuber that makes really nice and informative videos, he ends up turning out as a complete moralizing faggot that has to insert his political views into his otherwise good and informative content even though no one fucking asked. Same thing is happening with Technology Connections. A damn shame.

And by reading this thread it seems I am already late to the party. At least IH doesn't have this urge and his content is actually funny and he can get edgy when he wants to without exposing his politics, just some good old fashioned shitposting.

@Slav Power I never got the impression that the guy's content is outright trying to morally grandstand and outright condemn anyone who watches with a differing opinion. Jim Sterling's arguably one of the worst offenders, along with breadtube or leftist creators often hopping on their soapbox and lambast everyone and everything that's a part of the evil capitalist, transphobic, exploitative systems in place. Even if OT's videos do come off as a bit preachy, I still do find them to be fairly entertaining and informative, which is all I can really ask for.

@Spaceman Spud SumitoMedia's and Many Kudos I figure are the other two guys you're talking about. Sumito's videos I'll admit aren't all that entertaining, though some of the collabs he's done with IH have been pretty funny. Many Kudos I also find to be fairly entertaining and informative with his coverage of various fandom drama and happenings. Was surprised to see Justin Whang, in his video covering YandereDev, cite KF as a main source of info regarding some fetish website Alex had an account on.

IH's collaboration with Jontron was great, although I'm not sure that counts given Jontron may be more famous than IH...
So JonathonTronathon has been on In the Field, but I don't believe he's been on anything on the story mode channel.
That would be the best crossover imo, Jon brings a unique energy that would riff extra well off of IH in an expleened vid.

I too randomly fell over OrdinaryThings the other day and enjoyed many of his videos. It's clearly only as of "late" he started being very funny and critical in his videos, whereas 3 years ago it's like.. actual information with one joke every 50 seconds at best. I wouldn't say I've encountered anything overtly political but he did do the whole "FACE MASK GOOD!" for all of 2 seconds which I guess is considered soyboy and badpilled. Fun guy, Ill stay subbed

IH either is truly apolitical or he's the best at hidding his politics of all youtubers to ever exist relative to the kind of content he makes.

I've watched all his content and as far as I've noticed, he's never actually said anything even remotely "left" leaning or even anything that could be miscontrued as such, while at the same time not really veering into extreme edge territory like E;R that would give away his politics. He makes edgy jokes sure, but nothing too edgy.

The edgiest thing he's ever done is play 3 seconds of the ducktale nigger song for a joke when he was pretending uncharted was racist, yet at the same time his entire circle of friends appears to be completely cucked faggots.

For all I know he could be the most left leaning pro gay marriage pro child SRS pro biden pro vax youtuber out there, but his content is good and he does a good enough job hidding his politics, and I can't really blame anyone for wanting their politics private for any reason, especially if they are this talented.

This is bit of a powerlevel but sometime around 2021 I realised IH's Twitter likes made a better timeline for me than what Twitter had so I ended up checking almost all of his likes once a week for over a year. He didn't like too many political Tweets and seemed to be a moderate in a good few ways but I do think he's a Libertarian or at least Libertarian-adjacent. His likes are currently hidden; pretty sure this is to do with a mini-drama he got into for liking a Musk tweet mocking Zelenskyy.

That's intresting, do you remember any political tweets he did like?

That is funny.
