Oh wunderbar, Der Fuherlinger finally has a thread! I remember first seeing his posts last winter calling to dismantle Russia into a bunch of shithole rump states spread across Far East and like the silly gullible Amerimutt that I am, I initially thought he was some powerful figure among the big cheese in Brussels. Nah, turns out he's just one of those guys who has logged so many hours on HOI4 that he thinks real life is a Paradox game.

While Gunther has stirred the geopolitical pot in his own little way due to his position as president of some shitty little one-man NGO, I can't really see him getting into any dumb e-drama, mostly because he's a public figure (and a politically-adjacent one at that) and he probably has at least a cursory understanding of how to present himself professionally. While I've been proven wrong before, I'm expecting him to be one of those tamer cows who's just a strange curiosity to online passersby, since he kinda just posts the same content repeatedly and doesn't understand that due to a mix of autism and not speaking English as a first language, the people interacting to his tweets are largely just making fun of him. He's very clearly not in on the joke and I find that kind of endearing.

He simply has been in the EU's system long enough to have connections and did just enough work there to go from some regular political drone to being a consultant for small countries who want to join the union. People like to mistake that he is some larper but he just happens to be so far down the pecking order that he simply is the guy that's sent to the inconsequential busywork that more important people are too busy to do.
