Good to know. What are the chances of her dying from dehydration/exposure in the middle of June if she wandered into some fields? Also when is the harvest? There's also what looks like a flooded quarry a couple miles east of Borden-Carlton that I figure she might have fallen into but I'm guessing that's probably not a quarry at all considering its elevation and proximity to the shore.
there is a bridge from Charlottetown that connects to this part of the island, I think any idea of her walking a bridge would be the bridge into Charlottetown which is pretty populated and only select homeless live in tents in the wooded areas, it's not where you go to be a survivalist. below Borden if you aren't taking the confederation bridge you enter super extreme rural farm land with few vacation/cottage destinations beyond part timers who own and visit in the summer.
if she wandered into farm land in the area, she'd probably be spotted by nosey neighbors from even a mile away. no one traverses through farms without being noticed and someone coming by to ask if you need help as it's EXTREMELY common to have car troubles and find yourself on the side of dirt roads. there are only 100k people on the island so you are aware of those around you.
it depends on what they're harvesting but it's extremely unlikely she'd be dead in a field unnoticed. I'm taking the farms word on the level of retardation she has but she also seems to have grown up on the island and would have some idea after years upon years of how the island worked. you only hear of like dementia patients wandering off and dieing to the elements. they generally find the autistic kids because they are wandering in visible places as a true retard has no sense of awareness.
I'd also wager their "neighbors" could potentially be a fair distance and not a suburban neighborhood. there are pockets of that but they don't seem known enough to be in a high density area. their neighbors could be an entire city block away. far enough you probably can't hear anyone screaming unless they're running away outside.
honestly the survivalist story could be a total distraction as if she is retarded enough he could've asked her togo to the gas station and meet him later on to create an alibi then return home, kill her and to bring in past theories, it takes about 3 hours to drive the entire island so maybe take a two day road trip and drop a few body parts along the shore line or maybe has connections to a guy with a fishing boat but at least her phone will ping off of other towers. it doesn't anymore maybe because she got a new phone maybe she's in one of the very rural areas that just doesn't have a signal hiding in the woods.
but on top of this PEI doesn't have its own police, only Charlottetown does so the RCMP is responsible for everywhere but Charlottetown. the RCMP is pretty lazy about doing shit, especially for domestics, and this is not the only missing woman in recent years.
it's not a flex the feds are at his door. that's the only police force available to investigate in the area. but if they're actually at his door then they might suspect him of a crime much more than just a wife running away.
Well that's grim as fuck. I really hope that's not the case. I'm sure we'll find out though if this goes to trial and gets coverage.
