As you can see, no one really cares about his pathetic displays of attention... Not even Kiwi's.

I do because I like the Kryptonian Epic, but I don't post about it here because this is basically just a hate thread for Max.

also I guess putting your art out there is a "pathetic display of attention", live and learn.
The Reddit blackout really got you down, eh?

I think in this instance it can be considered a "pathetic display of attention" when Max has a clear track record of wanting attention and still thinks he's a player in Hollywood.

Just because something is art doesn't mean its good. People are going to shit on things, even things made with pure intentions to just entertain. But this isn't Max's reason, he loves himself so much he thinks we all want to see him and that he is amazing. It is pathetic, because he is still unable to read the room and see that most people see him as a talent-less hack who got by thanks to his dad.

You could argue that as he is nothing more than a spoiled child, he likely is somewhat retarded and unable to really understand how much people think he is a whiny middle class art fag, and like most of those types, their self indulgent attempts at meaning are a point of mockery for most people.

I'd prefer a cyberpunk dystopia over assholes who got where they are because of sheer nepotism.
I honestly can't wait for AI to take over the industry. It won't end nepotism anytime soon, but it will loose untalented people's jobs. And Max Landis can throw rocks at glass houses all he wants.

Max Landis lost his laptop with thousands of pages worth of projects on it:

Unfortunately, right as people were getting ready to celebrate, he managed to reclaim it from a homeless man:

You forgot the screen caps where he reveals the synopsis of his "brilliant" ideas. Pardon me if I allow myself to comment on these turds he calls ideas.

fag1.png
Slut. Awful and it seems like projection from a scorned ex of his or maybe a chick he molested?
Trust the Police. Awful and cliche.
m1nd series: Chronicle if it was absolute shit.

fag2.png
Super Mario World: why the fuck would you include your fan fiction? It's never going to happen, Max.
Dysphoria: it's bad.
Custom: has "okay" potential to be something but it comes off as a quirky comedy rather than a horror film or perhaps dark comedy horror. It's too reminiscent of the Hostel movies as well.
Here to There: sounds cliche and woke.
The Big After: it's bad.
Passing Lane: it's bad.
Wild Bunch: Sam Peckinpah would bash Max's fucking head in with a bottle of Jack Daniels like in fucking Pan's Labyrinth if he saw this.

fag3.png
Battlefied: it's bad.
Sammy and Jesse Meet the Creature from Planet X: sounds like a shit post that he'd pitch to the studios and he would cast nothing but his friends as a big goof on the studio's dime.
Sasquatch Panic: it's bad.
Pantheon: sounds... "okay" as a concept but I'm wondering something... Is he going for an Owen Hart thing with the wrestler being killed? That MIGHT be interesting but the problem is that everyone would just point out the similarities to Owen Hart and then his widow and family would come out of the woodwork to condemn the movie.
Rinse and Repeat: it's bad.
Moth Magic: it's bad.
The Theory of Evolution: woke and bad. Max will never get a passing ESG score.

fag4.png
Pan-Pacific: it's bad.
Hometown Hero: it's bad.
Chronicle- Found Footage. Obviously he already made this one. Why include it? Dunno.
The Long Long Days: it's bad.
After the End: K-mart hasn't been relevant in over a decade now and it's cliche and bad. A movie with a similar concept already got made called Black Friday (pretty good flick).
I Disappear: if only Max would disappear.
Chronicle 2: what is the connection to Chronicle?
Villains: it's bad.

fag5.png
Space Mountain: it's shit.
Vessels: so, live-action Futurama? Real original.
American Ultra: already got made and the flick bombed.
Revelations: could be decent.
Universal Horror: it's bad.
Song of the Siren: it's bad. Carnivorous mermaids? WTF? I could see it work exclusively as a schlock film if the mermaids fucked guys to death or something like that.
Weird Tale: it's bad.
Pecos: it's bad.

fag6.png
The Wrong Girl (found footage): fuck off with found footage.
The Surge: eh, already done in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (decent film).
The Ever Afters: dog shit.
Pepper: pig shit.
Echo Street Magic: duck shit.
Things Change: yeah, ripoff Body Snatchers or Stranger Things or whatever. Genius (NOT).
Bemidji (is this Yiddish or something?): tiger shit.
Where the Wild Things Are: real original idea.
The Stuff: a remake of the Larry Cohen flick. You don't even need to remake it, just create a different product with the same basic structure and go farther. A remake of The Stuff kind of writes itself.

fag7.png
Duel: a remake of the Spielberg film... Max is so humble.
Spitting in the Wind: it's been done. One example off the top of my head is the Clive Barker short story Confession of a (Pornographer's) Shroud. But his twist is to make it more Jewy.
Garble: every edge lord faggot on the face of the Earth has already thought of this idea you fucking retard.
Girltalk: eh, could work? Maybe as a short film?
Roam: it's bad. Just ripoff Free Willie, gj faggot.
The Investigators: it's bad.
The Slums of Mars: it's bad. Don't even need to read the synopsis because the title is more than enough.

fag8.png
Hell and the Policeman: could be decent. It reminds me of the scrapped idea for a Tales from the Crypt movie set in Louisiana and about voodoo. He probably ripped off that idea.
Horace and Nogli: it's tiger shit.
Jet Set: seems like a shit post but you take this idea and hand it to someone like James Gunn and they could make a purse from a sow's ear.
Frankenstein: already made and the movie was pig shit.
Pied Piper: cow shit.
Typhoon: cat shit.
Katabasis: it's Wes Craven's Shocker meets Romcom. Absolute trash idea.
Local: too vague.

fag9.png
Wish You Were Here: so it's Twilight but with a genie instead of vampires? Pass.
Big Red Mcclane: FUCK THESE TITLES.
Me Him Her: already made. Movie tanked hard.
Amnesty: sounds like the plot to Bright but only somewhat. For the record: I thought Bright was just "okay" at best. It's the novelty that carries Bright.
Fall of the 3rd Kingdom. gnome shit.
Mr. Right. cat shit.
Ambassador Avenue: Max really should have killed himself.

fag10.png
Goodtime Gang: rat shit.
Green Valley: turtle shit.
Worldwalker: some other kind of shit.
Love/Trust: too vague but kind of cliche.
Moby Dick. more woke cliche shit from Max.
Whitepaw: autistic.
Squire: eh, an actual decent idea. Yeah, this could work. Hate to give Max any credit at all but it's an alright idea but it's the same logic where a broken clock is right at least twice a day. Seems Tarantino-esque.

fag11.png

Hulk: absolute fucking trash.
Who Killed Sherlock Holmes: terrible.
Militia: fucking terrible.
Waterloo: it's just like his Hulk idea except replace capeshit with aliens. Max even rips himself off.
American Gothic: embarrassing.

Edit for commentary.

Sorry for the image dump. Reading through all this garbage has confirmed to me that Chronicle was a fluke. It also makes it even more apparent that he's a shit writer. Not just because the ideas are bad -we've all had ideas that sound good at first but when you dig into it you realize how shit it is- but showing something that's incomplete is just bad form. No writer does that NOT UNLESS it is with their inner circle. And you share something like that with your inner circle or otherwise you end up looking like an asshole like Max. Because this shit is truly just embarrassing. This is shit that a 13 year-old would write up in their notebook when bored and thinking their ideas are the best ever.

the worst part is based on how many works that have been made into movies he put in there, its likely this is his entire output from the last 15 or more years. Agree about the inner circle but the ratio of films made and released to theaters vs written is absurdly high. No wonder people hate him, overall your average professional screen writer (like with an agent and shit) might have one film actually made and released with 80 scripts written and sent out. If you notice all these sound like huge budget shit too. No wonder the few films that did get made into films were the cheap ones.

Ill admit to liking the battlefield one and the one with the kids, those feel different and like they might work, the rest are typical young adult "dude i got a great idea for a movie" scripts that would require $500 million dollars to make good. Like a post-superhero destruction in a major city would be way too much in cost for them to waste on such a small scale film. The rest sound like low selling paperback novel type deals. the telekinesis quadilogy feels like a 1980s firestarter type knockoff.

You can also tell he probably wrote quite a bit of these in the 2000s just based on what other films already used a similar idea or its based around trends from back then, like you said about the Hostel parody or the religious stuff, i feel bright and victor frankstein are reworked versions of two of the ideas. Overall they all sound very shit. @Murder2021 earlier in the thread was right about Max being better off writing some millennial black mirror knock off because most of his ideas just feel very half baked and like he had an idea, thought up the log line, then the pitch, then the beats based on Save The Cat but all soulless. The way that is sort of ok if its disposable television "we need X episodes" style but people wouldn't pay to see on screen. Like you said with Chronicle, it was lightning in a bottle, the rest of his works are very B-movie/paperback novel/extended cable tv Which is probably why his most "well liked" work besides chronicle is that shitty Dirk Gently show that couldn't even get enough views to stay on the air on a channel as small as BBCamerica. if he wasn't canceled he easily would have convinced some streamer to make more of his shitty films and he'd be whining now because they won't release it. Max just isn't a screen writer, honestly he's not really a book type either. if he lucked his way into a book deal a decade ago he'd sell less than modern star wars novels. Comics seem more his speed, but with the canceling he burned that bridge and he'd have to self publish, i highly doubt he could crowdfund anything either.

But what the fuck is he doing? he's just writing more Sonichu level stories and living on a trust fund like Chris-chan? He's not bothering to get a life?
Move on, find a real hobby or friends. Its over, you're better off releasing all your shit as examples of scripts and books because no ones buying. With an ego like his i'm surprised he never tried getting into streaming or comicsgate or any of the other grifter shows he could have gone on once his hollywood career dried up.

My guess is a combination of living off his father's money and residuals from Bright and other deals? I know Netflix wanted to do more Bright sequels so he could have gotten even more for that even if the whole project was scraped. He may have also moonlighted as a ghostwriter but I heard that whole thing went to shit around 2010 or so and studios want you to do the work for free. But with his connections then who knows?

So what does this trust fund kid do with all his time? his career is nothing, it was barely anything by the time the allegations hit. So whats he doing with his life? 5 projects 61 scripts and two novels that will never see the light of day.
What they all do, live off residuals + family money and smoke weed and take prescription pills all day. Plus the mandatory cocaine

I think the issue with him is that he's confused writing pitches in place of actual writing. You have to assume the persona of a salesman when pitching and often times you compare it to something else. Honest to god that this is true and this is my one aside: I was at work talking to clients, we're making small talk and the topic of shows on streaming services came up. Clients brought up Yellowstone and I talked about The Boys on Amazon (while avoiding the NSFW elements of course). And I go over it quickly, the clients are listening but remain somewhat disinterested, but the instant I said "It's a show about an evil Superman." Both guys simultaneously said "Oh!" like they immediately just got the idea and were interested.

It's one way of doing it and it's super common in Hollywood. Fun fact: Event Horizon was made because the screenwriter pitched it to the studio as "The Shining in space."

In saying all of this, once you pitch the idea you then make it your own. That's just how you do it or otherwise you're a hack fraud and also a faggot. When you look at Event Horizon it's obviously not very similar to the Shining beyond ghostly shit but you can see influences from Hellraiser, some Warhammer 40K, and the Roger Corman cult classic Galaxy of Terror. But Event Horizon still manages to do something different and not feel like a ripoff. You can see the Hellraiser influence but there's no cenobites, no puzzle box and etcetera. You can see the Galaxy of Terror influence but beyond the premise there's not a ton of similarities. No one is raped by a giant maggot in Event Horizon.

Max forgot the whole "make it your own" part.

e. But with his connections then who knows?
i'm sure he's pissed away whatever connections he's had, its been 6 years. Still nothing. maybe he's getting uncredited jobs but for a guy with his ego i'm sure its not enough for him. if you notice he doesn't even have any "friends" to help him with his internet videos anymore. look how many people he got to help with Death of Superman vs his latest output. He couldn't even hire people/use friends. i highly doubt a half dozen films and a two season show on cable are enough for him to survive on. He doesn't seem like the type to save his money so him having at least 6 million just from sold work he's credited on probably didn't last him very long. Even though just from interest and residuals he should have made enough money to clear $200k a year. chances are based on what we were told from his ex-friends and lovers he assumed the work would never stop, he'd be making money and selling scripts the rest of his life.

didn't he self finance at least one of his later films? from what i heard he's still part of the hollywood lore at this point, a lolcow people might bring up for a laugh. I just find it amazing to be blacklisted and de facto retired in your 30s at least most other #MeToo "victims" were old as shit. Like if you're over Medicare age and blacklisted, who cares. if you're over 70 who cares if you can't work. you shouldn't be working.

but he was only 32, no way in hell he isn't straight up a typical NEET burden to his parents from here on out. He's the LA Spoony at this point. Actually he's much worse, at least people have warm memories of spoony. Max has been nothing but shit whether you knew him personally or just saw his films.
he's confused writing pitches in place of actual writing
to be fair, it did work in the short term, i'm sure he'd still find some tard at a streamer to give him money for some shitty film that wouldn't have seen the light of day. you'd be surprised the crap streamers have made the last couple years. I have a hard time believing that without the canceling he'd fail his way out of hollywood. especially in the pre-strike era when they were greenlighting every fucking thing under the sun. if Joseph Gordon Levitt could convince apple to give him money for his jewish bullshit show that even reddit hated and couldn't pretend to like when he was shilling it all over the site, Landis could have gotten something. None of his shit was ever good though, even from what i read of the original bright script its not worth $r million. it still reads like a low budget direct to video film. Stan Helsing has a better script and characters and that film was made for under half a million dollars. Max was clearly insane to believe Bright was "his star wars" when Stan Helsing is such a better film.
