Poor tactile feedback on nearly all of the SP buttons. That never recovered from any of the later models of handhelds. At least until the switch came out. This was devastating on games where you needed almost frame perfect accuracy like using the magic system in Crystal Chronicles for the GCN, an essential system to beat bosses.
