Everything Nig R. says or does lately, especially his theology, philosophy, is 100% consistent with someone who gets a gay emo tattoo in his 40s. That tattoo alone dispelled whatever mystery about him. Alcohol or mid-life crisis can't be the cause for that poor of a taste. It comes from within. He's forfeited the benefit of the doubt. Unveiling such cringe meant renouncing all reason.
His MO is to flaunt a vague lack of innocence, like visiting gay bars just for fun! And then we sometimes get a glimpse of what may actually be going on behind the scenes, like his bragging of experience with MDMA (this episode doesn't get enough discussion as one of the many possible causes for his flipping the script). He invites speculation and then uses whatever may miss the mark, as speculation often does, to paint himself as a victim of unhinged critics.
One could be charitable and assume it's merely attention seeking, but that ship's sailed. The appalling nature of all the details he's gradually made public means you have to be obtuse to maintain charitability anymore, and he's obtuse for pretending he's still owed any. Among many other things, Nick's surely gay. Is he "bisexual" or non-practicing gay? It's all the same for his purpose of making people suspect something's gay about him. Whatever he's engaged in, I'm sure he's about as moderate with it as he is his money, driving, "jokes," or drinking.
