Ask @WelperHelper99 about mormon shit - Cope and Seethe edition

Did Mormons take over Utah or was it given to them? What makes Utah a hit Mormon spot?
I'm not WelperHelper but I am a resident Mormon enthusiast. Utah was colonized by them. The Mormons had been expelled from Missouri and then again from Illinois. After Illinois the main body of them trekked to the Great Salt Lake, which was de jure part of Mexico but in effect just Indian land like most of the West was. They established their own state with the intention of joining the US, but in practice it was an unrecognized nation until the American military conquered it (Deseret). That region (Utah and the bordering regions of Utah's neighbors) is effectively their homeland as their religious identity took full shape in it.

If you're familiar with it, they're like America's Boers in some ways.

Will you take ownership of Mitt Romney and do the needful?

The younger brother of a good friend of mine growing up was going to get engaged to a Mormon girl but for unknown reasons he was required to convert, presumably at the behest of her family , which he did but unfortunately for him, they called off the engagement before the marriage went through. He went through with the conversion and is now some kind of missionary. My question is can Mormons marry outside of their faith and keep their status within the faith in good standing or does the Mormon in the relationship have to leave/does the non-Mormon have to convert? The only reason I ask is because this whole situation with my mate's brother nearly tore his family apart.

LDS or FLDS? This determines the authenticity of your posts.
LDS
Is the whole God turned the skin of Indians red as a punishment an actual thing in the Book of Mormon?
Yes, lmao
Is it truth that you belief in human ascension to godhood?
Yes
I read a (fictional) book written by a Mormon who had an interesting idea of fallen angels. The idea was that (as with Milton) a third of the angels rebelled against God's creation. The loyal were spirits who would be born into human bodies and learn virtue, charity, self-sacrifice, etc. The reason demons are assholes is that they never went through this process of learning morality.

Is this actually a Mormon belief or was it just something he made up for the story?
He kinda fucked with it but generally yes
So, what do you think about Battlestar Galactica?
Need to watch it

Legally I'm not answering that, though he's a shithead that doesn't even live here

Ooh, i am sorry man. Simple answer: they can. It won't be in the temple and won't be considered eternal however. The bishop at the local ward can do up to the death do us part bit.

Do you personally believe in the golden plates?
Do you personally believe your faith undergarments can protect you from physical injury in certain situations?
Do you believe indigenous people, of the "Lamanites and Nephites", are cursed by a god?
(Edit: You responded while I was writing this. What crime did the indigenous commit to earn this 'cursed' skin?)

What's the whole caffeine thing about? I've heard Mormons can't have coffee or energy drinks. What about tea or soda?

The LDS Church was forcibly removed from Caldwell County, Missouri, by order of the the Governor(Mormon Extermination Order). After Joseph Smith died, Bringham Young lead the largest chunk of the Church west until there wasn't anyone around to kick them out, again. That became Utah.

Depends, but if it was some spiritual type situation, sure

Answering the whole thing, Read the Book of Mormon, but the long and short is the Lamanites are nigger gangbangers and wouldn't stop killing and raping the Nephites. Eventually they both became nigger gangbusters and nigh obliterated eachother. The mark was to tell them apart

Tea, coffee, drugs, and tobacco are haram. Caffeine on its own is fine, though some families get twitchy about it

Not with that power lustful attitude. God decides in the end who's worthy.
Wait

Welper's another Null kissass? That's the first I'm hearing of this
Null hates me I think, I just dunk on the woman hate thread sometimes lol

Just want to make that clear, that governor told us to get out or we'd get slaughtered. Extermination order is very literal.
So if you're Mormon you can treat yourself to a Red Bull but not an Espresso?
Technically, though energy drinks aren't the most common

Why Mormonism? Plz Sell me on why this faith means something to you.
Piggybacking on this, why in the world would you believe in Mormonism knowing Joseph Smith's absolutely hilariously bullshit claims about angels, golden plates have to be contrived? Why would you find him credible? Why would you believe in a religion so obviously and ridiculously bogus, appealing to American pride?
