No the discount was really good! It was only for consoles it was a pittance, since BB buys it at near retail prices.I'm betting he violated it by buying shit for friends with the discount. And since the discount was allegedly that small, why chance violating the policy of making money?
When you consider DSP’s character, the story, as he told it, makes perfect sense.
They hated his guts so much, they couldn’t wait to get rid of him. And when Phil bought his two PS2’s 40 cent below retail price, it game them the excuse to give him the boot.
If it was anyone else, they’d probably let it slide. Phil of course is too oblivious to realize how obnoxious the story makes him look: As someone who management really goes the mile to get rid off!
EDIT: When he told management to F off, when they wanted him to redo the online test he failed, that’s probably when he got put on the “to be fired” list.
Phil doesn’t strike me as someone socially apt enough to use an employee discount to increase his social capital, nor charitable enough to want to help his friends.I know that's what they eventually got him on but I have no doubt he was buying shit for friends as it has been shown that he tried to buy friends in the past.
I could totally see him brag to people he know, about the employee discount he got as a “member of the special business team” though. If he starts sharing it, he’s no longer that special, alright?
