I'm betting he violated it by buying shit for friends with the discount. And since the discount was allegedly that small, why chance violating the policy of making money?
No the discount was really good! It was only for consoles it was a pittance, since BB buys it at near retail prices.

When you consider DSP’s character, the story, as he told it, makes perfect sense.

They hated his guts so much, they couldn’t wait to get rid of him. And when Phil bought his two PS2’s 40 cent below retail price, it game them the excuse to give him the boot.

If it was anyone else, they’d probably let it slide. Phil of course is too oblivious to realize how obnoxious the story makes him look: As someone who management really goes the mile to get rid off!

EDIT: When he told management to F off, when they wanted him to redo the online test he failed, that’s probably when he got put on the “to be fired” list.
I know that's what they eventually got him on but I have no doubt he was buying shit for friends as it has been shown that he tried to buy friends in the past.
Phil doesn’t strike me as someone socially apt enough to use an employee discount to increase his social capital, nor charitable enough to want to help his friends.

I could totally see him brag to people he know, about the employee discount he got as a “member of the special business team” though. If he starts sharing it, he’s no longer that special, alright?

On the other hand AVGN, just like Dave, is obsessed with scat humor.
I think they're on completely different levels. There was more to AVGN's jokes than JUST poop and swearing. But so many people tried to be that. Irate Gamer, Pissed Off Video Gamer, Andy Blaze, etc.
And it's just dawning on me that DarksydePhil was and is just another of the many failed AVGN clone that was so retarded he gained a following for it.

He was also told by management that they would need him to work floor shifts during downtime because of how severely his sales department was underperforming and he farted at them and said, "Nope. That's not what my employment contract says ACK ACK ACK!" I think he technically had his job through corporate and not the store itself as 'Best Buy for Business' was a corporate initiative, but he was an employee of that store location and paid by them. It's classic Phil. Act like you're above the GM and just sit in your cubicle all day surfing the internet waiting for customers to be brought to your desk.

Do you have a link to this 'online test he failed' thing? I haven't heard of that before.

I think we should clarify that "friends" for Phil translates to "all the people who I duped with all the shit I buy".
yeah, I shouldn't have used the term 'for friends' while using the correct term 'trying to buy friends' (as learned about through the dent sea scrolls) later in the sentence.

Yeah he was totally trying to be an AVGN clone. Lately a bunch of the detractors have been showing his very first video which is him yelling at the tv about that Star Wars evil jedi game. It was the part where the jedi player character had to rip that spaceship out of the sky. I never played the game and hate spaceshit, but god damn it, I fucking knew what to do cause every fucking trailer, every fucking gameplay showcase back before that game came out showed this section off. You can tell that Phil was trying to be the AVGN in that.

Nowadays, you can tell with his random sound effects, fart sounds, and other 'lulzsorandom' shit he does during gameplay that he's trying to channel the AVGN or Pewdiepie.

Keep in mind we only have phils side of the story for the bestbuy illegal termination, which means we know its bullshit. Id bet dollars to donuts that piggy was fucking around to scum the system and getting the playstations on discount was the least scummy thing he did so thats the part of the story we heard.

Let me describe what i saw.
1. Tune in late
2. don't know what the fuck is going on just that he's supposed to be playing CoD
3. See he's doing some kind of tier list????
4. Reviewing christmas movies and making the tired argument about Die Hard being a Christmas movie (it's not)
5. Starts talking about the Jim Carrey Grinch (i think it's fine)
6. Phil has obviously only seen the Nostalgia Critic review and based his entire opinion on that man's review but he's kicked it up to the extreme
7. apparently the movie is bad because... uh uh. It's weird... uhhh it's not like the cartoon... and uhhhh... Grinch gets a hard on over a little girl!? YES THAT HAPPENED
8. Anywayyyy die hard is good because it has the dad from Family Matters. And it's totally a christmas movie because there's lights and dec 25 on a calander and stuff
9. Polar Express isn't apart of Phil's childhood but he saw it with his mom wife and cried so it's good! (the man is twice my age and cried at that cheesy ass movie)
10. Christmas Story is good because "describes the plot" And kids lick poles and get their tongues stuck. Ohhhh kay boomer.

At this point I'm seething. I just want gameplay to start. And then...
When he revealed the full length of that list I felt all the energy drain from my body. He was on number twelve and I saw a scroll bar and heard someone say it's a top 50. I'm out for the day.

Check out the WPIG show I linked to.

Yeah, it’s Phil’s size of the story, but we get to hear how it changes over the years, and can deduce what really happened.

At an earlier point Phil talked about taking (legal) advantage of the employee discount and how he used to get a sizable discount for his cameras and surround sound set.

The funniest part of the story is how tired they must have been of Phil, to use that for termination. I’ll bet you they would have led anyone else off with a warning.

It really does bring to light how Phil was despised long before he fucked up with the FGC. It's kind of amazing how he's considered a joke in the video game community, the fighting game community, and in retail and sales. It's blatantly obvious that his helicopter job was pure nepotism, and everyone couldn't stand him.

It's sad when you think about it, but then it's infuriating at the same time, since all Phil does is bitch and blame others instead of looking at himself. Really, when multiple groups of people think you're an asshole, and you can't figure out why and choose to blame them, maybe you're the problem?

Yeah, there was a segment where Phil talked about how he’s “always been a truth teller” and how it hurt him when he “told his boss the truth” and got fired.

(As an example: The Best Buy deal again: Phil is told to take an online qualifications test. Phil fails it. Is told to retake it, and refuses, telling the boss that “it wasn’t part of the agreement when they hired him”)

Phil had to have some idea that HE is the problem, but his narcissism and ego just manages to turn it into; “Woah dude! Those assholes just can’t take it when I tell them they’re being fecking stewpid!”

It’s hard to feel sympathy from someone who refuses to learn. And even harder when the same person constantly cries poor and begs for money while blowing it on gatcha and doordash.

In his eyes that day can't come soon enough, piggy is probably just salivating at the idea of getting his hands on the inheritance.

The Dead Parents arc will be hilarious. Phil obviously expects it to work like how it does in television shows, where they all gather in a lawyer's office and the lawyer reads off the will like a Christmas list. "To our drug addict cousin, we leave nothing. To our beloved son, who has done nothing wrong in his life, we leave our pristine house and our secret savings account of 10 million dollars, p.s we agree, you were pressing block the whole time." When in reality, he might get a house filled with Linda's QVC hoard, and maybe 1000 dollars from their accounts. Just imagine the malding that would happen from him trying to manage their estate. Phil complaining about how no one wants to buy As Seen on TV junk for near retail prices, because of course he would be one of those "I know what I have" sellers. Or multiple real estate agents and home inspectors telling him that he has to fix multiple things in the house before he could even start thinking about selling it. And of course, all of these people he will have to deal with refuse to talk with him through emails.

The faggot used the "teach me something I'll use in real life" excuse at his job and got him fired lmfao. What a braindead retard.

Old people can take a long time to die, and it costs a lot to simply prevent them from dying. Additionally, not both of them will die at once. Linda would be first (lifetime chain smoker), Phil will fake cry and get some pity donos. Dave will have to deal with everything and possibly get sour at his son for leaving it to him to deal with it. I don't know how much I believe Phil is willing to fly back to CT for a funeral or whatever else there will be. However if he sees a paycheck, he will.

I'm not saying Phil will get nothing, and you're absolutely spot on with your estimate. The senior Burnells will spend most of their money by the time they die and their house will fall into disrepair.

That's what set off my pigsense that he was buying shit for other people using his discount.
It's blatantly obvious that his helicopter job was pure nepotism, and everyone couldn't stand him.
And his 'restructuring' story was related to being given the nothing work of Six Sigma. And seeing Six Sigma on his father's credentials only confirmed it for me.
I dated a woman whose company implemented it and she told me how they use it to give the slackers 'busy work' since the people that actually work and know how the company operates can't be taken away from their jobs to do it.

I dunno man… I have a hard time picturing Phil trying to do something for others.

As for selling it at a profit? Phil is lazy and dumb. If somebody would would a 800$ stereo that Phil could get for 500$ with his discount, he’d demand 800$ for it, since selling it for $600 wouldn’t be “worth his time”.

But who knows?

I dunno man… I have a hard time picturing Phil trying to do something for others.
but he wasn't doing it for others. He was doing it for himself because he had no friends. There was something else he did that really tips it off. I can't remember right now but it will come to me. It's what his backyard gaming party was all about. It's all in the dent sea scrolls.
