I think that it's possible when confronted by Muta Jirard was genuinely horrified and only did the interview because he panicked before the family lawyers could get to him.

It's mentioned in one of the follow-up videos, but when Muta and Karl first contacted Jirard to ask about the charity, Jirard requested time for himself to set up a meeting with everyone involved in the charity. This was agreed to, and the Open Hand meeting happened before the Karl and Muta interview.

I just don't see Jirard intentionally doing something like this, and the interview makes no sense - if your a criminal intentionally committing charity fraud you would be smart enough to not speak to anyone about it if caught.

Or he just figured he'd never get found out, and because he had such a nice guy reputation he thought he could deal with it in a single call.

I believe in this thread people found some companies connected to his father/family that scream "Money Laundering Front", and those were pretty old so its likely his family has been doing shit like this for a while. Personally speaking I don't think he is innocent, I think he knew what was going in and likely actively took part in it, at best he was ok with it happening.

He can’t even communicate there was no wrongdoing to his discord paypigs. He can’t say when a statement will be made other than “soon”. He sure can pitch his new patreon goals and chastise whoever was leaking his comments to the public though.

He lies, cheats, and steals from his fans. It’s not too much of a stretch to think his close associates would not think twice either. It’s ironic these people think they are better than the people who literally financially support their lifestyles.

Oh really. To be honest I don't watch his content; that's super sketchy. I just remember his associations with Normal Boots from back in the day. I've said this outside of the forum before, but what's happening today is, at it's very core, an "America" problem. Pretty much any sector of American entertainment that you can think of has gone insane. The "big states" that used to be the cornerstone and representatives for America have turned into the kind of places that most normal people would want to avoid (LA, SA, NYC). People are especially turning their attention to Japan now because Japan's tradition-based culture and language barrier have managed to shield it from this madness.

True, but their time would be better spent going after entities that evade paying tens of millions or more in taxes. I think this is petty crime in the grand scheme. I completely condone tax evasion (this is a satirical statement, only a fool would take this as endorsement of financial crime) but charity embezzlement is a mortal sin.
