I think the FtM butchering costs more in the end.
Guys generally get their balls cut off, their dicks filleted, have the dick skin sewn inside out, shoved up a hole punched in the pelvic floor, and then get some flesh origami to (badly) simulate outer female genitalia. A good chunk of them think their moobs from estrogen are just fine, but others get a boob job.
So you got one operation to make the stink ditch, one revision (they all seem to have at least one) and maybe a boob job. It's relatively simple compared to mangling a female into a eunuch.
Girls generally get their breasts cut off first, to achieve that manly "zippertits" look. Then they get their internal reproductive organs yeeted (unless they wanna risk cancer from all that testosterone.). Once the girly parts are gone, they can get their Frankenstein on!
They commonly get a forearm filleted to form the "neophallus". The "donor site" usually looks like they suffered a bad burn and can make that arm basically useless afterwards. (Alternate sites can be used like the back, but I guess they like the "this tattoo used to be visible but now it's not" aesthetic of using a forearm instead.). The butcher, sorry, surgeon, creates a tube from that meat slab that bears no resemblance to a real dick. It's sewn (badly) onto the fupa, and often later turns septic/necrotic because of lack of blood supply.
Yeah, it's never gonna function like the real thing, but most pooners don't seem to mind if they can't use it for sex. Most of them would rather be able to stand and pee like a big boy at the urinal. Sex isn't as important as swaggering up to the porcelain god and whipping it out for some reason. So the butchers promise them that they can lengthen their urethras with some other flesh origami and thread it through the meat tube.....and *this* is where it gets seriously fucked up.
They experience strictures when the "neourethra" clogs up (could be with body hair if they didn't get the "donor" site electrolysis, or other vile reasons), so then they have a real medical emergency because they can't pee.....at all......standing or sitting or any position. The muscles of the female bladder aren't as strong as a natal male's, anyway (why would it? Female urethras are like an inch and a half, while guys are like 8-9 inches). That's where all this talk about "milking" comes in - they aren't talking about their boobs, they are talking about trying to get the pee out of a (now) underpowered bladder.
So, yeah. It's gonna cost a hell of a lot more to get a FtM more or less functional, simply because so much more could go wrong, and they run a real risk of fucking up their urinary system. You're gonna need a few revisions, a few emergency room runs, and who the hell else knows until the pooner shuffles off this mortal coil. It's easily enough to send a butcher's kid allllllll the way through college without incurring any debt.
