So I was recommended this entertaining "Virtual Toad Choir" of Toad from Super Mario singing Silent Night.
It reminded me - a few years ago, there was this hilarious woman who used to do this incredible Toad covers of songs!

It got me to thinking - why'd she stop making these videos? Was it too much strain on her vocal chords? Those Toad covers were wildly popular for a while ("Toad sings Chandelier" got 8.2 million views).
So the last "Toad Sings" was Last Christmas by Wham! but it didn't sound quite right...

Enough people commented on how not-like-Toad it sounded that she was moved to comment and reveal she pooned out

Two years later and she uploaded a video entitled "Toad sings is dead. Let's talk about it."

Now that's one person that I completely forgot that he existed. I can't remember the last time I even seen an Annoying Orange video. It seems to be that way with many of these Jewtubers, they either fade into irrelevance and go back to being normal, or play to the algorithm by latching onto the Current Thing in order to desperately cling onto any fame or fortune they once had. Danebo seems to have gone for option 2. I honestly wish I could say I was surprised, but it happens so often that it seems like it comes part-and-parcel with the job description. To paraphrase the best part of a mediocre 90's action movie:

Clergy and their predilection for alter boys, Old Hollywood executives preying on naive young kids in exchange for roles while their parents looked the other way, all of the Jimmy Saville victims (notably called out by Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, who was ridiculed for it), the praise and applause heaped upon Roman Polanski by practically Hunger Games characters at one of the numerous vapid Hollywood awards ceremonies, while quite literally being a wanted fugitive for raping a 13 year old girl in the 70s. And now the grooming platform of choice just happens to be YouTube/Social media. The only difference now is that the groomers and pedos are even more blatant with their perversions, and are afforded protection under the LGBTQOMGTWTFBBQ alphabet mafia banner. Quite literally a Thanks Obama moment.

I don't think it's a big mystery, a lot of youtubers got into it because they crave adoration, but the internet moves on quickly and has a short memory so sooner or later these guys start losing views and eventually they pull some stunt to stay relevant. You see this kind of thing a lot with Youtubers who go after a younger audience, although there may be some pedophilic intent, a lot of times they simply know that kids tend to put trusted adult figures on a pedestal and they exploit that. That's why these people never just come out to friends and family, it's always a big announcement with a youtube video where they talk about themselves for an hour like it's some major historical event.

No kidding, looking through his IG history that someone linked here, and he drew out his "announcement" for over 2 fucking years! It's like, "Nigga, we get it! Stunning, brave, authentic self, yadda yadda, get on with it" People were calling him out on it 2 years ago. Even his "coming out" had to be stretched out for maximum content...

The actual truth is that the idiotic nature of Annoying Orange could have only been possible in a better internet era.

The lolrandom humour of current internet feels forced and insincere.

People like Smosh, Annoying Orange, Shane Dawson et al. were popular because they embodied a fun--loving, laid-back, carefree internet and an era where doing this shit would not have made you a single penny.

It is extremely tragic that every one of these characters have carried on in such way that they're all either morally corrupt, sexually degenerate, opportunistic, psychologically deranged, political abominations or all of them.

Youtube was doomed the minute that the corporations/Jews (same thing, I know) realized that it could be monetized. First it was the REALLY bad channels that were gone, then the really bad comments were gone, more "undesirable" videos were struck, then de-listed, then gone completely. Then ads infinitum, the dislike button is gone, nebulous TOS "violations" for anyone who goes against the narrative, etc. Its been death by a thousand cuts. Yeah, nowadays KiwiFarms is "The Worst Place On The Internet" but for people who were around then, YouTube used to be  KNOWN for how bad the comments section could get. Yeah, sure, you never coud say Nigger or Niggerfaggot, but you definitely could say faggot, and the back and forth could rival the best of A&N sperging sometimes. Early YouTube really was a gem and felt like the wild west sometimes. Now it's just a sanitized, commercialized piece of shit like everything else. Everyone is a "personality" trying to sell you something, whether it's a product or themselves. Anyone just shitposting random shit to be funny is either shadowbanned or deliberately hidden by (((The Algorithm))). I dont fault the Annoying Orange videos when they came out. Like AVGN, OG Smosh, Kassem G, and others, he stumbled onto something that took off and rolled with it. They were dumb, and not really my thing, but he did manage to parlay that into success with his channel, merchandise, and TV shows, etc. The whole ideological push afterwards and grooming/"uWu trans rights" bullshit is typical leftist trash though. Another thing ruined by modern woke ideology.
