The suit involving Montagraph was expected to go the same way. Before this all really got going Montagraph was viewed as an elderly impotent creepy schizophrenic who's best offense was drawing people as eggs and filing multiple failed lawsuits against detractors. With the information at the time, it was thought that it would be an easily defeated poorly written filing milked by Nick and then struck down by 1A wizard Randazza. The fact that Montagraph was able to team up with a local attorney with an axe to grind and hold Nick's head to the fire for what he said was unthinkable at the time. That's why he did it so brazenly, because he, and in truth large segments of his audience at the time, thought Montagraph couldn't defend himself and it would be a lolsuit.

What continues to surprise me is how little influence the people in his life have over him or how little they care. One thing I always believed, despite everything, is that Drexel and Nick are friends. I don't know if Drexel is just baffled as he is a teetotaller, but you can't watch your close IRL friend of 20+ years humiliate himself and destroy his earning potential and do nothing. What are he, Kayla and his family saying to him I wonder? Do they genuinely not give a fuck? Or is Nick so stubborn he's able to ignore all the pressure?
His behavior is way past borderline and anybody who cares about him should be actively pressuring him to change. It's documented on video. It's baffling that this persists for a man with 5 children.
