General GunTuber thread

Yes, the name does not help. Looking at their roster it seems like they got nearly everyone.

What partially stemmed the question was T-rex mentioned them in a post in passing - they ran a poll asking people if they thought "there's not enough disclosure/transparency in the community" - ; at least 6 of Leviathan brand influencers got real pissy in the comment section. It was the strangest thing I've seen in awhile, getting mad about disclosing relationships is a bad thing now?

You got to be on something to willingly go to Sonoran Desert Institute. Maybe that's actually a front for narcotics
Got a link to that discussion where Lucas mentions them? I’m guessing it was on instagram or something.

SDI is just a front to suck up GI Bill money from vets, ask me how I know. If I had to guess, I’d say most of their income comes from vets signing up. They don’t send absolute garbage, the guns are ok but some of the tools they send are mediocre quality at best. Instead of a dremel or other good quality rotary tool brand they sent some aliexpress Chinese junk for example.

I knew going into it that all of this was true, but the curriculum isn’t too bad, especially if you already have some other skills like metalworking and machining. I mostly did it to use up the last of my GI Bill, get some free guns and tools, and supplement the skills I already have.

RIP Paul, he’s got to be the last of the old guard of the kind of guys I grew up around in the gun community. Not out to make a profit, just be a mentor and guide to shooting fundamentals and marksmanship. Now we’re left with mostly guntubers shacked up with leviathan who mostly care about marketing and profit, whatever gets the most engagement. I hate it.

... seems like a weird thing to say if it's not true?

and does a lot better than /k/ about voicing the nuances in opinion
/k/ was much more fun before Sandy Hook, and a lot less retarded before the elections and the summer of riots.
Too many normalfags, too many political autists, and too many shills.

That's interesting, is the post preserved?
@Scarlet Imperial ?

I didn't save it, but it was brief and said something to the effect of "unfortunately Paul Harrell died today" and I guess it was from a random (edit: and I hope it wasn't one of you)

/k/ became unusable for me after the Russian-Ukrainian war started and the NAFO shills showed up. They constantly derail completely unrelated threads and anyone who calls them out for their off-topic posts gets banned by the jannies.

/k/ sucked since 2012. NAFO shills didn't show up either, they've always been there. Or have you forgotten the arguments that would spawn from Armachan's retarded posts?

Those were mostly contained to his threads. It got way, way worse after the war started with most of the posts in the catalog having nothing to do with weapons.

Almost seems like it. Still makes me wonder how our rumor spreader knew that Paul would upload a video specifically about hollow-points, as well as him knowing that he'd upload it out of schedule.
The other option is that the family and crew are not prepared to make it public and this one spoke out of turn.

/k/ hasn't been about weapons for a few years now, it was starting to become the same recycled threads about armor or aircraft. But it's not just /k/, Paranormal is just pagan cope and astrology posts now. The glory days have long past us.

I guess we really won't know unless an obituary - assuming they do one - is released. Or maybe the farewell video was supposed to be released the day the obit comes out. All conjecture at this point, but it would make sense to a degree.

that's what I thought when cave said "any updates will come through roy's brother and no one else" but the subsequent statements flat out deny that he's dead.
