They probably got emotionally blackmailed with "do you want a trans grandchild or a dead one?" Seeing how the parents bankrolled the whole transition they obviously drank the kool-aid and sister was young enough she simply didn't know any better, so the whole family was unified in support of the troon. The grandparents were probably afraid of being branded as transphobes and cut off from the one grandchild they still have that's not a fuckup. But after getting some life experience, the sister realized that her brother is a gross sex pest skin walking her, which peaked her hard and grandparents saw the opportunity to both support her and voice their opposition to the tranny.

This should of been how it was from the start.
Too many fucked up guys could "change gender" and names and effectively hide from their past, and hiding ones sex is really not helpful. Granted many don't pass, but it causes hell for anything trying to segregate the sexes for safety.
I think police are kinda adjusted to it now, but you can tell in any tranny arrest there's an unspoken "really? this dumb shit?". They don't buy it, its just more lunacy to deal with.
