Hard as it is to admit this, I owe an apology to PeaceWolf for what happened in FreeFurAll ‘23
and events surrounding it. This document explains how and what for. This document will also
shed light on some events that happened whose cause are a mystery to the fandom public up
until now.
I’ll start with a little (not too much) lore: My furry pen name is Len, and I attended FreeFurAll in
2022, my very first convention despite being a furry for a while.
It was there that I met quite a few people who I later became good friends with.
As you know, about two months after FreeFurAll ‘22, it became known that Peace was having
an affair which would later lead to her divorce, as well as the two guests of honor, Jason and
Kabs, effectively taking over the ‘23 convention and ruining it.
Many of us were upset at losing the one furry convention that was for us our new home. A group
of us got together and decided to take action against Jason, Peace and supporters such as the
Furry Raiders, with the goal of regaining control of the convention from the existing board. This
group of friends, whom I will call the conspirators, included Foxglove (Peace’s now ex-husband),
myself and three others whom I will not name. I encourage the other three to come forward and
come clean.
While I originally felt like our actions were done to save our home convention, they were in
reality just a way to assist an angry ex in tormenting PeaceWolf. I will explain in detail all of the
actions we took, as well as my personal level of involvement in each action. Since this
happened over a year ago, the exact details of everything I recall may be a little off here and
there.
Leaking the November staff meeting: We conspirators leaked the staff meeting in November
that got passed around. We felt that Peace, Jason and certain members of the board sounded
incredibly corrupt in this meeting and its leaking would enrage the community.
Leaking the board meeting in which Foxglove was dismissed: Yes, we also leaked the
board meeting, as well as making the animation video which got passed around. The board
meeting was obtained by Foxglove, who still had backdoor access to all the AWOO’s files. I
retweeted this leak on my Twitter account and made Telegram ‘Furry Drama’ headlines to
amplify its reach. After these two events, our actions began to include things I felt increasingly
uncomfortable with
Rumors of a ‘Data Breach’ : If you attended FreeFurAll, you may remember a mass email sent
out about a so-called data breach, along with rumors spread that leftist groups may have gotten
access to attendance information. This was untrue. While there was technically a data breach,
nobody to our knowledge had access to it other than Foxglove and one other conspirator. The
rumors were spread to stoke fear and make the board of directors look bad.
‘Hack’ of the AWOO Association website: As the year progressed, we upped the intensity of
our efforts by ‘hacking’ the AWOO association website. AWOO was not actually hacked, that
was merely Foxglove, who was AWOO’s original IT guy, messing around with the site and
changing it to make it appear that some leftists had hacked it. I suspect he got in from the same
aforementioned backdoor. There was no real hack. I disapproved of this and thought we were
going too far, but neglected to speak up.
Fabricated e-mail about AWOO going ‘for profit’: Later on, one of the conspirators got a tip
that Jason had floated the idea of turning the AWOO into a for profit corporation. We were never
certain of this, but some of our conspirators got the idea to write up a fake email and use the
official AWOO Association mass mail list, making it look like our letter was from the official
AWOO account. I’m not exactly sure how the others achieved this. I had nothing to do with this,
but once again failed to speak up about it.
Black Jack Egragor: For those who were wondering, the Twitter account named ‘Black Jack
Egragor’ was indeed one of us. I suspect it was run by two of us. This account frequently
berated PeaceWolf on Twitter and spread leaked info. I had nothing to do with it personally, but
thought it was funny at the time. I would often retweet Egragor’s provocations with my bigger
social media account, so as to amplify its narrative.
Alerting the main event performer: We conspirators had multiple staff members feeding us
information, and had at almost all times accurate registration info for the event. By the time April
had come around, it was obvious that official attendance was going to be somewhere between
50 and 70 (the ultimate number was 69). It was my idea to alert our comedy performer to the
fact that there would hardly be an audience for him in 2023, which I did.
Taking PeaceWolf’s Mustang: Foxglove and one of the conspirators in Tulsa staked out
PeaceWolf’s apartment complex and bypassed their security to drive away with her iconic blue
and white-striped Mustang. Technically this was not auto theft, because Fox was still on the title,
but this was done as a campaign to intimidate and shake up PeaceWolf, which it absolutely
succeeded in doing. By the time I learned of this plan, I and one other conspirator became leery
of what was going on in Tulsa and began to subtly try dissuading one of them to stop with the
“gay ops.”
Sadly, the gay ops only intensified from here.
Showing up at Lakoda’s house: One of two conspirators, either Foxglove or another local
person, came up with a plan to knock on the door of board member Lakoda Frost Husky. The
idea was that the board technically violated Oklahoma corporate law by moving the bank
account without Foxglove’s, a board member’s, knowledge. Therefore, Fox and one other
conspirator would show up at Lakoda’s doorstep and offer not to make this public if we were
given control of the Discord server, along with some other provisions I don’t remember.
This operation resulted in a big argument between Foxglove and one of Lakoda’s relatives on
the front lawn. While they didn’t get the intended result, from what I could see, this lead to
Lakoda permanently locking down all his social media accounts indefinitely. Before this
happened, another one of the main conspirators started getting squeamish about these plans,
which probably contributed to a falling out between him and Foxglove a couple months
afterward. I will let the others tell that story: I was not there, and both of the non-local
conspirators, myself included, were quietly starting to question things by now.
Whiteboard forgery: By the time the convention had begun, at least two of us were lobbying
the other conspirators to instead focus on the informal camping event idea we had decided on.
Regardless of that, one of the conspirators decided to create a forgery of the infamous
‘Whiteboard Incident’ and sell it on Ebay to help Foxglove pay legal expenses.
So yes, the so-called whiteboard drawing of Jason, Kabs and Peace was indeed a fake. On the
day of the convention, one of us got into the hotel and slipped pamphlets under hotel room
doors advertising the sale of Kabs’ whiteboard drawing. I’m not sure what exactly happened to
that drawing, because by then I didn’t want to talk about the ‘gay ops’ anymore.
Epilogue
As you may know, FreeFurAll ‘23 was a disaster. Official attendance numbers were never
released (it was 69), but only about two-thirds of the pre-reg audience actually showed up. It’s
hard to gauge exactly how much effect our efforts had on convention attendance, but there is no
doubt that much of these operations had a big effect on PeaceWolf’s psyche, which I now
suspect may have been the intention all along.
You may be wondering why I am coming clean months after the event. Even up to the very end
with some of the more extreme of these operations, I mistakenly believed what we were doing
was justified in order to save our convention. More importantly, some of the stuff Peace and
Jason were doing in retaliation came across as mean-spirited as well. Specifically, Peace put up
a lengthy TwitLonger post after her divorce suit with Foxglove had closed.
As I read and digested PeaceWolf’s side of the story, I thought most of the accusations against
Foxglove to be wild and outrageous, particularly some of the retaliations she accused him of
doing. I had at that time worked with Foxglove for several months, and her descriptions sounded
absolutely nothing like the Foxglove I knew.
When FreeFurAll drew to a close, the majority of us decided forcefully to drop some of the ‘gay
ops’ against Peace and the board, and focus instead on something more constructive and
exciting; our camping event, which would be held in Tulsa. We gathered together some of the
2022 FreeFurAll people, along with some others we met online along the way, and had a nice
little camping event last October. We also attended a few conventions before that, and formed
what I believed to be a solid ‘convention crew.’
Shortly after the camping event ended, Foxglove ‘stepped down’ for a myriad of reasons he
outlined on a public tweet he made back then. In addition to the document he dropped on
Twitter, he loudly complained in his Discord server how people weren’t stepping up, and other
lamentations that made it clear to me that he didn’t believe in or even want to be around the
crew we had formed..
I had realized that if we wanted to keep this small community together, the job of organizing
would fall on me. I had already started a Discord server which most of us migrated to, and I did
the best I could to keep things going and have gatherings that Conservative, Christian furries
could look forward to. This is where I had an epiphany that would lead to me making my
admission today.
Soon after taking over, I got a complaint from a mutual female friend and someone we’d known
for awhile. She had been shaken up by incessant messages from Fox. When she would try to
politely disengage, he would DM her over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
Without going into the content of these messages, the manner and form of the messages were
very similar to Peace’s complaints about Fox berating her over text. This led me to conclude two
things: 1) That Foxglove could no longer be around our community and 2) That Peace’s
accusations deserved to be taken more seriously. Given my latest interactions, I took a second
look at Peace’s side of the story and realized I had made a big mistake.
This document isn’t about Foxglove, however. It is about how I came to realize my involvement
in these operations against PeaceWolf were wrong, and to convey to you, the reader, that while
we had originally done these things with the intent to save FreeFurAll, we were merely assisting
an ex-husband stalk and intimidate PeaceWolf.
I am ashamed of my involvement in this, and it has been weighing on me all this time. This is my
best attempt to come clean and apologize. PeaceWolf; I’m sorry.
To the other three ‘conspirators,’ I can only encourage you all to come clean with this as well. I
left out your names, but I hope you will follow me and do the same. It really is about time to be
honest about this.
