At the gas station 11 minutes into the movie Duel, the car has a PLYMOUTH emblem on the hood.

In all other scenes it has what looks like a piece of adhesive tape.

You aren’t doing the Ted kaczynski name justice. You can make rope yourself at home with plastic bags from the grocery store.
The real Ted would have taken matters into his own hands, yet my mail remains unexploded.
Care to put your money where your mouth is, faggot?

Bring as many of your cowardly friends as you want; I'll go to prison, but all of you will go to the morgue.

They used several different cars during filming and it was a relatively low-budget TV film, so eh, not everything's perfect. The semi gets really inconsistent, especially in the newly-shot scenes for the theatrical cut since they kinda drove the original one off a cliff
Agreed. You can see it's two different Valiants by comparing other details like the rear-view stalk, width of the rear-view black plastic backing, the hinge of the wiper blades, and the buff on the side mirrors. They're all different between the two shots. The first shot also looks like a 2-door while the second looks like a 4-door variant, but it's hard to tell from just those stills.
It's pretty easy to see PLYM but then it tails off into sun glare. Comparing with the original decal side by side it matches up pretty well. I suspect this is actually a strip of tin foil or insulation tape that was rubbed over the original car's emblem, then stuck onto this car that doesn't have an emblem with the intention of spray coloring it to match later, and that just never happened before the shoots and so what you see is this weird half-way finished thing that was supposed to increase consistency but actually had the opposite effect.

at the gas station it's a '72 with black lettering. It's also the one that smashes into the schoolbus.
The other 2 are '70 & '71 models with silver badge & different side indicators
all 3 they used were 4 doors
one was a V8 by the side markers & the other 2 were Slant 6s

It's not like the legendary Gone In 60 Seconds where they just filmed with the one Mach IV Yellow Mustang fkn Jewberg needed multiple cars to shoot he's little race & chase telemovie
