My opinion of his art was that it was always "fan" pin-up art stuff. He was the type of guy who could do a nice simple poster-type images, but lacked the skills to actually do comics. He had a sort of basic knowledge of drawing, but no more than that.
He had terrible problems with composition, proportions, human poses, perspective and a whole lot of basic stuff. He seemed better at inking than drawing. Ask him to draw a single guy with a sword in a simple stock pose and he could get the job done. Anything with more than one character or with a background and it was going to be not great.
He never got any better because he supported himself by drawing lots and lots of "fan" single-character pin-up pictures. He is far from the worst artist in comicsgate. But at the same time there was nothing special about his art.
