Corey Barnhill is a public figure. Him admitting on recording to viewing CSAM is of public interest. It is not an act of vigilantism or taking the law into our own hands to create a publicly viewable archive of his actions, nor is it a mutually exclusive act from reporting the actions within the recording to the authorities. I'm arguing that Prostasia is an organization full of the absolute weaselliest of weaselly fucks that lie as easily as they breathe, and that the evidence of their and their associates' actions should be archived to ensure they can't attempt to rewrite history later on when it's convenient.

I also notice that the page you linked about the dude's arrest includes charges for pictures of kids, and also for selling some of the shit to other people. I'd argue (amateurly, mind you - I'm not a lawyer) those two charges are probably more so what the feds were concerned with, and they added the charges for the obscene text on top of that just to ensure he got more prison time.

If hosting the obscene text on its own was a genuine legal concern, I imagine we would have heard more stories about fanfiction sites getting shut down by the feds, considering how notorious the pro-shippers are.
