A weiner and poodle mix? Lmao. Dachshunds tend to be some of the worst scoring dogs in temperament tests. Supposedly poodles don't score badly but I don't trust the little ones given the meanest dog I've ever personally known was one.

I'd trust a bully over a weiner/poodle mix. Or any large dog over a small one. Large dogs are usually fine as long as they aren't fucked up inbred never trained/socialized clusterfucks chained in some shithole backyard. 9/10 if a dog is acting aggressive to me its a little one.

Anyway thay exotic bully show is all kinds of horrifying. The stoned looking Frenchie is funny until you remember how much pain the poor thing is probably in. Forcing a dog to give birth at a show, what the actual fuck. I can't imagine that's good for the puppies either.

Cane corsos actually dwarf bully breeds and have been used in fighting so it's interesting when people panic over bullies more than them. That said, like bullies as long as the owner knows what they're doing and they're properly bred they're fine (the one fatal attack by cane corsos I can think of off the top of my head was the result of methhead Nazis who were literally raping the dogs and bought them to bred guard dogs for their meth labs, so the poor dogs were gonna be fucked in the head no matter what breed they were).

What I need to know is why it's also needed to ban a bunch of non-mastiff, non-bully-esque herd dogs.

Sure, it's a working dog and not an overly attention-seeking potato like the golden retriever labrador mix but I'd still love to pet it.

Breed specific legislation in general is retarded and based on moral panics and avoiding holding shitty dog owners accountable. The real issue is shitty, irresponsible assholes getting large, powerful dogs and not properly training, socializing, breeding, or containing them.

Did catch something about her claiming that bisexual men don't exist, which was an interesting thing to say.

Anyway, to keep this thread-relevant; had a conversation with an animal behaviorist about aggressive breeds and they were staunchly against breeds being banned because they claimed that while certain dogs were bred for aggression, it's not something that is influenced by the genes as it as by the treatment of the owner.

Maybe there's truth to this and I'm just obstinate due to my own biases but I can't comfortably buy into it. Feels like it simplifies the issue. Which is why I hate the whole "no bad breeds. Just bad owners" mantra.

Absolutely, if you're a piece of shit owner, your dog is going to be a piece of shit animal. But at the same time, it ignores that dogs have these things called instincts and drive. A dog from a breed that was bred for bloodsports may be the sweetest little angel when it lazes around on your couch, but it doesn't remove the dormant instinct of aggression or the instinct to go for the jugular.

I've read too many stories about some fighting dog in a loving home with decent owners, suddenly snapping because some outside force triggered it to believe that it's not something ingrained in its DNA.
And it's not even the dog's fault. It's the way it was wired.

Anyway, the behaviorist would rather have regulations on certain breeds so only certain people can own them for a certain purpose than outright bans. I can see the good in that but I feel as if it's like playing Russian Roulette. I could see someone creating a puppy mill or something.

If anything though, I'd approve of banning dogs for other reasons than aggression. Like the genetic messes that are the pugs and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I love the latter but it's a health disaster zone, even by purebred dog standards.

And it'll probably take another two centuries to unfuck the myriad of health problems.

And how many of those stories are actually true? People can tell any story they want on the internet. Even if there's truth there was a dog attack, how many people are going to openly admit they provoked the dog or left their crotch goblin around it unsupervised to provoke the dog?

Tons of breeds were used in bloodsports, including a lot of the most popular small breeds like rat terriers and Jack Russell's. It's not remotely unique to bully breeds.

The bully pearl clutching is a combination of moral panic, /pol/ autism, and zoosadism. Bullies are powerful dogs that can do lots of damage if they attack, but nothing about those breeds is unique to them. No one should have any large, powerful dog if they aren't willing to care for it properly (which includes proper training and socialization from a young age).

A weiner poodle mix can't maul you even if it tries. What will a Dachshund do if it wants to bite a person? Nibble at the ankle at worst, but it will never be a threat to one's life unless you put needles filled with Aids on its head or something.

The problem with pitbulls is that they are fucking large and strong, and skizo. If they were the size of a Chihuahua, nobody would give a shit and just punt them.
