Philosophy Tube / Oliver Lennard / Oliver "Olly" Thorn / Abigail Thorn - Breadtube's Patrick Bateman.

I'd like to know about these "international medical authorities" that have supposedly condemned this.

Also, has he ever explained what a "desegregated" NHS would even mean? Does he really just mean anything a cis person can get a trans person can get for any reason even if the reason is different? Is it segregation that I can't have a liver transplant even though I have a perfectly fine liver?

That's pretty much it. The 2 issues are:
1. trannies need a referral from a psychiatrist to get hormone therapy, which they claim is unnecessary. They want therapy available on an Informed Consent basis, which they interpret as telling a doctor they've done the research so hand over the drugs, no psychiatric assessment needed. Cis women (ie actual women) don't need a psychiatrist, why should they?
2. Trannies always have to go to a specialist for hormone therapy instead of their GP (General Practitioner). They claim its segregation for trans women to need a specialist for the same HRT cis women get from the GP. The GPs don't accept that hormone therapy for trannies is the same as HRT, especially if there's a hormone blocker involved as that has long term effects on fertility and a host of other issues, and refuse to take on that duty.

Typical Ollie using emotive language to mislead and manipulate. The segregation is a non-issue, and trans interpretation of Informed Consent is the usual 'give me what I want' bullshit.

I don't think Olly gets that it's harder for women and men to go on sex hormones they should have since they pretty much need to have a medical condition that justifies them taking estrogen/testosterone supplements. In other words, they need to run proper medical tests to show they're low on said hormone and not just go and cry to a shrink about how they want big GF tiddies.

Those two faggots with blue makeup over their eyes are obviously trying to skinwalk Pris from Blade Runner and are doing a very bad job. Poor, poor Pris.
I thought it was maybe Marilyn mason circa 2003, aka when he should have jacked it in

He says "segregation" to make people think he's opposing something that's like apartheid or American racial segregation. But no it's literally just "if you won't give medication and/or surgical procedures to anyone for any reason at any time, you're part of a bigoted system".

Yeah, it really pisses me off too. I'm sure it's a calculated move on his part.

Right. “Segregation” is a very loaded word, and there’s so many other ways you could describe it. It’s just to create knee jerk reaction that the current system is unjust and unfair in the minds of his audience
i cant believe a black feminist, or indeed, TroonOvC, has not come down like a ton of bricks on him abut his segregation talk yet-he's been at it for years.

it gets waaay the fuck up my nose, and i'm not even black. I pray for the day he gets his just desert around this particular point.

Everytime I see an example of Toobs acting I'm astounded by how bad it is, Toob somehow manages to combine totally wooden line delivery with extremely distracting over the top gurning.
I just can't get over his tiny little mouth 😂

ETA: his cameo is from 9:16 to 9:28 for anyone who's interested. And my lord was this bad. This is like the early YouTube, Shane Dawson skit level of comedy. Utter trash. Choob's performance is perhaps even marginally less bad than everyone else's.

KEK watched the new Brandon Rogers thing, which btw, is it's own thing, and decent, and been going for years don't let tube drag it down for you, although if you've neve hear of it before, it will be impossible to not let him poison it.

it's dumb chaotic bullshit but tube being thrown in really stinks it up. *
How does chube manage to stand out as... Outstandingly shit, in an intensely OTT lighthearted dumb comedy production?

Also, has something actually happened to his voice? Like he can't even put on the silly "woman" high voice for a couple of seconds rn

*I assume BR has basically just never heard of tube properly and doesn't realise how toxic it is he is. But still, it's amazing how hard one man can suck in so few seconds. Fr fr fr.

Join Abigail Thorn, actress, writer, and creator of Philosophy Tube, as she takes us on a tour around Wellcome Collection, a museum in London covering health and human experience.
The focus? A free temporary exhibition called “The Cult of Beauty”, which delves into the meaning of beauty and its evolution throughout history.
While highlighting some of the historical objects and artworks that resonate with her, Abigail reflects on beauty ideals past and present, positive and negative – how society is moulded by them, and how they have given shape to her own personal feelings about beauty.

Surprised he hasn't yet shared this on socials — it's a good look for him, BBC presenter vibes (well, more like Vogue 73 Questions, but close enough). Bernadette Banner collaborated with Wellcome Collection for a video on corsetry last month, and they've co-authored a few posts on Instagram to promote it. Maybe Olly's promo posts are scheduled for later. Doesn't make much sense to hire an influencer without gaining access to their following in the deal.

Apparently PT's Patreon posts have been uploaded to kemono.su. It's an organized repository of links to his old material, some privated, some unlisted.

One thing that raised my eyebrows was the language used in his preview posts for the Cosmonaut videos (the suicide one, the abuse one, and the coming out one). He's so stuck on the idea of doing something that’s never been done before —
  • "I'm very nervous - again, you'll understand why when you see it - but also excited because as far as I know nobody has ever made anything quite like this on YouTube before."
  • "I'm currently editing the next episode: technically, emotionally, and thematically nothing like this has ever been attempted before on YouTube."
  • "I honestly think we filmed something amazing and special today, and also a little bit disturbing. It's going to be like nothing else you've ever seen..."

In full, the abuse post is especially bizarre. No "this means a lot to me," no "this was a tough one to make," just "technically, emotionally, and thematically nothing like this has ever been attempted before on YouTube." The most charitable interpretation I can construct is that he's trying to metabolize the darkest experiences of his life into Art, and he's under the impression — mistaken, I'd say — that Art is made Good by newness, by doing something never done. But it's still a weird fucking way to introduce your confession that your ex has abused you. It's also the classic PT attitude toward art: depressingly shallow and instrumentalized.

It makes me wonder if transition appealed to him in part because it was Something New to Do. There's irony, of course, in the fact that it wasn't really new — Contra already did the big YouTuber transition — just as everything he does and claims to be new isn't half as groundbreaking as advertised.

>a lot of people are running around trying to master TikTok
>I barely ever look at sub or view counts or my analytics
>I don't have a five year plan so much as a desire to keep creating good art
>I'm not especially fussed whether the channel is growing or not!

lol. How times have changed.

The vanity of that comment is hilarious. It's a bit part, he's nowhere near famous enough to call that a cameo. I'm constantly amused by the grandiosity of his self-image.

I’m sure the art history people can poke more holes, but in the art video he says the “Sleeping Hermaphrodites” depicts an intersex or perhaps trans person and it’s evidence that queer bodies existed in ancient times. He doesn’t know Hermaphrodites is a character in greek mythology and maybe thinks it’s a generic hermaphrodite lol and seems to think that it was modeled from a real hermaphrodite. The sculptor could have more easily just based it on a female form and added a penis.

I think the reason his acting is so bad is that his voice is all kind of one note, it’s kind of even and blurs together. Not enough change in pitch? He can’t speak expressively because too much energy is going toward maintaining his girl voice? I dont know but i zone out and feel like im about to fall asleep after hearing 2 sentences

Hermaphroditus was a figure in Greek mythology, the son of Aphrodite and Hermes, who was transformed into a half-man, half-woman. Whether there was any connection in the Greeks' minds between the myth and actual hermaphrodites is a matter of debate. It's entirely possible that the myth arose from observations of people born intersex.

So, one could make a reasonable argument that it does indeed 'depict' (in a roundabout way) an intersex person, but it's more true to say that it depicts a god. Whether it was modelled on an intersex person is unlikely. It definitely does not depict a 'transwoman' because the concept didn't exist back then. There were crossdressers, but crossdressers could not have attained the female physical characteristics displayed in statues and paintings of Hermaphroditus, in an age before hormones, cosmetic surgery, laser hair removal, etc. The best they could do was make-up, clothes and castration.

An intersex person's body is clearly not 'queer' either, it's just a medical condition.
