Yeah, I think it's that plus the knowledge/guilt deep down that they're wasting their actual skills and talents at a dead-end job with no future.

Nobody should disrespect honest work no matter what it is, but when you're not using your skills and talents to achieve something that better fits them, it doesn't reflect well on you. Especially if you complain about your current job, if you're happy taking it easy and being unambitious there's nothing wrong with that IMO.

You're right. She isn't middle aged. She's beyond middle age. The average American lifespan is 75 years, that means that middle age is actually 37 years old. If you add in all her bad habits I'd say she's about 3/4ths done with life and will probably check out sometime in her 50s.

I never understood why people are so adamant that he work a job. Any money he gets from the government barely keeps him out of abject poverty. it’s not like he’s gaming the system and rolling in the big bucks or some shit.
