I think if anyone wants to study the mindset and psychology of religious fanaticism in the modern world, these Rowling haters are a good example.

This Wizarding News account really does sound like a witch hunter of the 1600s.

Everything that they accuse Rowling of, even when undeniable and impartial evidence proves the accusations utterly wrong, they still blame Rowling and declare her responsible for all of the “evil”.

And this isn’t just because she is the Harry Potter woman.

This fucker really has a mentality of Matthew Hopkins.

He probably scurries around where he lives, whipping unseen shadows and cursing spirits, before drowning old ladies.

What makes that even crazier is Wizarding News started out as a Harry Potter fan account and now it’s dedicated to hating on the creator.

If anyone hasn’t read Rowling’s novel The Ink Black Heart, the plot revolves around an anonymous “fan” of a cartoon who relentless trolls and harasses the creator of the cartoon online before murdering the creator. I wonder where she gets her ideas…

Bringing up my theory again that modern American liberals are the ideological descendants of the English puritans who settled the North during the first wave of migration to the Thirteen Colonies. Rate me autistic if you want, but I think a lot of American politics makes sense if you view it as a continuation of a conflict between English Puritans from the North and Scots-Irish Baptists from the South that started 400 years ago.

After the 'apology', the account owner decided to retweet two more articles making claims about Rowling's daughter, as well as some more unhinged Rowling hate.

There are people out there who only learn lessons the hard way. Perhaps this Wizarding News person is one of those, and just needs a massive lawsuit to send the point home through his thick skull... (I know it'd amuse me greatly!)

Meanwhile, in Scotland, that completely normal country...

Scottish police have been accused of targeting JK Rowling by inventing a fictional character called “Jo” who thinks that sex is binary and bizarrely calls for transgender people to be sent to gas chambers.

At an official Police Scotland hate crime event, attendees were presented with a “scenario” in which Jo is described as a passionate gender-critical campaigner who, like Rowling, believes people cannot change sex and has a large social media following.
Women’s groups claimed the character was a thinly veiled parody of the Harry Potter author, whose Christian name is Joanne and is called Jo by her friends, and fuelled unfounded conspiracies that there was a link between gender-critical beliefs and Nazism.

The hate crime “youth engagement” event, held in February, was part of a programme of events organised by Police Scotland for LGBT History Month.

Ahead of the enforcement of controversial new hate crime laws coming into force on April 1, other sessions were given to police officers in which concerns about male-bodied people having access to women’s facilities were mocked and described as “completely ludicrous”.

Meanwhile, the SNP’s controversial proposals for a ban on conversion therapy were presented as being part of continuing work to “achieve equal rights for all” and likened to the decriminalisation of homosexuality.
The hate crime event, which was supported by Police Scotland and jointly organised by the Scottish LGBTI Police Association and the Time for Inclusive Education (TIE) campaign group, invited attendees to consider the case of “Jo”.

She is described as an “online influencer” who is “very active” on social media platforms TikTok and Instagram, with a “large following”. Rowling is active on X, formerly Twitter, and has 14 million followers.

The fictional scenario states that Jo “travels around university campuses” to “debate her beliefs about the LGBTI community”.

It states that Jo “often gets very passionate about her beliefs and will say things like ‘there are only two genders’” and “too many attention-seeking wannabes”.

Rowling regularly expresses similar sentiments on social media.
The scenario concludes by stating “Jo posted her most recent video with the caption ‘they all belong in the gas chambers’”.

Attendees were then asked to discuss whether a hate crime had been committed by Jo and “what action do you think the police should take”.
Views expressed by young people were then recorded and “fed back to decision makers within Police Scotland”.

Marion Calder, a director at For Women Scotland, the campaign group, said the materials were “clearly trying to create a link with JK Rowling” and that it was “deeply concerning” to see “Jo” quickly leap from “reasonable statements” to the Holocaust.
Trans activists often claim there is a link between the gender-critical movement and far-Right ideology, and compare those who do not accept that trans women are women to racists.

“This suggests that gender-critical women with a high profile endorse a mass extinction, which is frankly bonkers, and sends a message to police that perfectly sane women have been radicalised,” Ms Calder said.
“These woke training sessions given by activists present highly contested statements as fact and would leave officers tasked with enforcing hate crime legislation with a warped view of the issues.”

Trans rights activists have vowed to target Rowling under new hate crime laws. She has denounced the legislation as “ludicrous” and has vowed to carry on “accurately sexing” males who claim to identify as women.

Police Scotland admitted this week that “stakeholders” had helped shape formal training materials for the hate crime legislation, which are separate to the events held for LGBT History month, but it is unclear who these are.
A session held on Feb 22 by the Terrence Higgins Trust for Police Scotland staff included a link to a video in which trans model Munroe Bergdorf dismissed the debate over access to women’s toilets as “completely ludicrous because you can’t expect a girl to walk into the guys”.

No alternative views are put forward on why some women are keen to preserve single-sex spaces, while contested claims around suicide risks for trans people and the benefits of “gender affirming” surgeries were also put forward.

Kath Murray, of the Murray Blackburn Mackenzie policy analysis group, said the materials added weight to “existing concerns about the undue influence of activist groups within Police Scotland”.

She added: “Material jointly presented by the LGBT Staff Association and TIE is, at points, misleading and puerile.
“It suggests a cross-over between gender critical views and Nazism, which it attributes to a character named ‘Jo’ .

“Other material promotes controversial medical practices. At the same time, Police Scotland expects officers to weigh up what a reasonable person thinks ‘abusive’ in the context of transgender identity.

“That it appears blind to this clear conflict, and appears to have taken no due diligence on these materials is troubling.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police Scotland marked LGBT+ history month by sharing content on our internal channels and hosting online events to recognise the contribution LGBT+ people have made to society, and the many challenges they have faced.

“These events were not mandatory for officers and staff and are not part of Police Scotland’s training.

“Separately, our training package for the implementation of the hate crime legislation has been developed in close consultation with stakeholders, and is based on the Scottish Government’s explanatory notes, to ensure officers are best prepared when they respond to hate crimes and incidents.

“Our training for the new Act reminds officers of their human rights obligations and it reflects all aspects of the new legislation, including the protection it includes around freedom of expression.”

The thing that I really find frustrating about this is not that it's a strawman argument, it's that it's such a ridiculously over the top strawman argument.

JK Rowling does not think trans people should go to the gas chambers and has never said that.

No gender-critical person has ever said that either.

They have to misrepresent their opponent's views in the most ridiculous, stereotypically eeevil ways possible, because they know that if they presented TERF arguments for what they actually are, most people would think they were perfectly sensible, reasonable views to have and would probably agree with them.

Goodie Rowling consorts with witches and made me strip naked and run up and down the high street yelling "I SUCK DICK FOR COCK!"

And she turned me into a newt!
She also made me think that bad words is equivalent to real life violence that should put me in jail for however many years
