It was shut down due to credit card companies being unable to take their bit off the top fees and the bank holding the IOLTA not wanting legal trouble. Money orders still work. Or just send Null some fictitious internet money.

I'm still of the same opinion about MOST forms of defamation. But utterly false accusations of hosting CP from an actual industry actor is really beyond the pale. This was being credibly cited by all kinds of people as a reason to wipe us out of existence. Getting Epik to retract it was definitely a huge win, and note that it wasn't actually spending the money that made it, but just HAVING it.

Making a threat is one thing. Melinda Scott can make threats. Nobody cares because she's a fat fucking retard and hasn't shown shithole.

Making a threat and obviously having the resources and will to carry it out, though? That's a bit more intimidating, especially when your own lawyers tell you to check yourself before you shrek yourself.

If you don't want to deal with KYC/AML and other USA PATRIOT bullshit, donate via crypto. It doesn't (and can't) go into the IOLTA, but even if it's not a direct contribution to the IOLTA, it frees up resources to be used directly to keep the site up.

How isn't this a victory? They retracted their defamatory statements, and are currently helping Null recover .pl domain. Anyone who relied on their statements must now also retract them on request, or they could get sued, and this would serve as a showing of Actual Malice (to the extent that Null may be some variation of a public figure, and such would be needed)

And all of this barely cost him anything.

Imagine you're about to get into a big 5v1 fist fight, you're the 1, and you only have a limited amount of energy to get through the fight.

The biggest, strongest, most capable fighter on the other side just apologized to you and said he'd try to get back the bike he stole from you a couple weeks ago.

He turns around a walks home. Now it's a 4v1, the remaining fighters are considerably less intimidating, and you didn't have to waste any energy on the big guy.
